Thank you very much!!! Can someone please link me to the page where they let you know about the live video dev talks? I cannot find it and thought there was one today. (I have chemo brain and sometimes I miss the obvious).

Ty in advance!
I think I saw you in chat, but if you missed the stream, you can find it here:

Are the new dig sites available in Chaos Theory or just Challenge mode??
The new dig sites are only available in Challenge Mode
Overall, amazing job with the patch. I know it's just come out, but are you still looking at HDR and performance issues?
Thank you so much. We're still looking into this. :)

Genome Editing
  • Added a random swatch for both pattern and skin colour in Genome Editing. You can now hatch a batch of dinosaurs, each with a random skin and/or pattern colour

Buildings/Fences
  • Turned off the power UI when a power substation is deactivated
Just wanted to give a special thanks for these two in particular. Amazing update pack full of amazing things. I can't wait to play some more tonight.

Thank you for that massive free update, you listened and addressed a lot of issues. The re-balancing is very welcome for us console peasants who can't download a save file.

I will just say I won't be getting any Dino DLC until we have a building, decoration and path DLC. All of these features are severely lacking, and it's a little frustrating to see that as this was a huge complaint from the last game. But I have great faith you will fix this in due time- you guys did a great job in updating JWE 1 to make it a much better game from launch.

Now to redownload and try again :)

In my sandbox park, I had a dinosaur die when I went to pick it up and deliver it to the hospital. This made the hospital get stuck in "treatment pending." I was hoping this update would either fix that or at least let me demolish and rebuild the hospital, but I can do neither. Which means I can't treat dinosaurs at this hospital. :( I worked really hard on this sandbox park and don't want to start over on it. :(

Yeah, more decoration for our parks and especially placeable foliage for our enclosures are desperatly needed. More fences would be amazing too, since the current selection is still very limited and similar looking.

And well those two tiny options to enable research and expeditons and therefore actual gameplay and progress in sandbox that are still missing from the game and highly requested by a ton of players...Don't get me wrong, the update and dlc looks great and all the fixes and additions are very much appreciated but players like myslef still don't have a single mode in which we can truly enjoy all that and simply play the game with all that it has to offer. As it is there's nothing really in here for us that makes it worth getting back into the game and we can only wait and hope that our concerns are listened to as well and something will finally be added in the next update.

After the update i am not able to change the color patterns of the dinosaurs anymore. Must be a mistake. I could go for genetic modifications but no colors?

The one thing I like about the DLC is that it is a lot cheaper than DLCs from JWE1, which were usually like $15 or $20 dollars, even though you are only getting a few new animals into your game, and that instead of you having to research and dig up their fossils, you get them just instantly available, which is what I was hoping for.

Thanks a lot for the free update! With reduced storm and dinosaur fight frequency the game feels much more smooth and relaxed now, it's really a huge improvement. I'm glad I paused the game during the last couple of days waiting for the update, it definitely payed off and now I managed to finish the "Jurassic World" Chaos Theory mission finally.

...so, what we need now more than ever before is the frequently requested option for the sandbox mode to do research and exhibitions there. You know, so that we can really feel and enjoy the game's new flow in a mode where everything can be developed from scratch and at one's own pace. Only this thing is missing to make JWE 2 a truely hot contender for the game of the year. Come on, you can't miss the opportunity ;)

What I think that they improved with the dinosaur combat frequency is that carnivores can still hunt goats, cause in the last game if you put combat to none, the carnivores would stop hunting other dinosaurs but would also stop hunting goats, rendering the goat feeder useless, but I decided to test it out to see if it was the same thing in JWE2, and the combat was sent to none, which I used a Ceratosaurus, and I waited for a while until finally the Cerato started hunting the goat. So, I am happy that our carnivores can still hunt goats even if the combat is turned off.

There is an issue with audio on Xbox series x with pteranodons not making any sounds anymore I can not hear their wings flap nor their vocalizations anymore it seems to be in the Jurassic park aviary and now the male JP3 raptor has no quills, and the JP3 Pteranodon seems too be to small aswell. Can we please get a fix to this fast

So I definitely love this update, but I've noticed some issues while playing today.
  • The reflection of the sky in the water is still flashing sometimes, at least while playing in sandbox mode.
  • When building a large amenity or guest attraction, what they actually look like doesn't match up with the customization settings.
  • The upgrade slot for the DFW small power plant seems to not be working at all.
  • Disabling egg synthisiztion failure in sandbox seems to not work.
Those are the only issues I noticed so far. I will edit this post later if I find more. Like I said I'm very happy with this update. More buildings. Random skins. The flat maps are cool. Finally can play on Nublar 2015 without the monorail. Wasn't expecting the color overlay option, that's nice. I know I've crapped on this game in a few posts before because I prefer the dino creation system of the first game better due to it's simplicity, but having the option finally to release a bunch of dinos at once that all look different is awesome and goes a LONG way towards making me not hate the 2-step, scientist dependent process.

Some further things I'd love to see:
  • Option to disable dino traits in sandbox and remove the synthesis step alltogether so we can just cook and release dinos faster.
  • Option to disable scientist requirement from tasks in sandbox, much like how the power requirement can be turned off for buildings.
  • Ability to start sandbox with no research or genomes so we can choose to play a fresh slate game but with our customized sandbox rules.
  • A contract or two that can be completed on a blank map with no money that could allow us to literally start with nothing and build up slowly. Example: "no power outages for x minutes" or "no guest fatalities for x minutes".
  • 1993 era contracts like in the first game. If we are playing sandbox with JP only buildings and contracts on, we should be getting contracts from the classic characters rather than the JW era ones. I don't even care if it's just a copy/paste from the first game. In fact, given my previous point about easy starter contracts, the Return to Jurassic Park contracts from Malcolm would actually be ideal.
  • Change challenge mode to allow us to pick which building set we want to play with before it starts.
  • Since the arrival helipads and expedition centers use the same helicopter skins as the capture teams (as opposed to them being unique models like in the first game) let us change the helicopter skins on those buildings too so they can match whatever we've selected for our capture team.
  • Add the option to have ALL guest types in sandbox. Guests, JP staff, JW staff, DPG workers, and DFW staff. Or better yet, change the selection method to a list with checkboxes and we can mix/match them ourselves. (I also thought a while ago this would be a better way to select sandbox weather as well. A checkbox list with all the different weather types and then separately a slider for weather frequency)
  • I'd still like to see a "damage building" tool. The concept of a ruined park aesthetic has intrigued me since the first game but having to rely on storms to damage things randomly really sucks.
  • Add more scenery. Specifically movie based stuff. Like parts of the crashed plane from JP3, ruined JP or Site B vehicles, the Rex nest from TLW.... you know stuff like that we can use to really make an enclosure stand out.
  • Add the San Diego Amphitheater to the JP sandbox building list.
Edit: I can confirm now that both DFW power stations' upgrade slots are bugged as well as the small and medium ameninties appearance when built not matching what the customizations say they are. Also it seems like the "random skin" option doesn't recognize the movie skins, which is a real shame.
