That's all they need to do to keep selling ships. Just keep selling ships that are better than their predecessors. Or at least market them that way. They can be nerfed after they have made their money. Backers will memory-hole what CIG did the next time there is a sale anyway.

500,000 per hour is laughable.
the boxes were the best way to consistently make money.
you might mine 200,000k per hour if everything is working. but things working is not something you can count on. and that doesn't include the time it takes to sell it.

Last time i used the Ion you could snipe kill medium fighters with 2 shots, which is ridiculous, i get that its a capital ship killer but for balance and sanity reasons they need to do something about that, its like the M26 Dart from BF4, the only weapon anyone would ever want to use.....
For sure that's ridiculous, but the problem lies in CIG selling it in such a broken form and then nerfing it.
Yeah, alpha, blah blah, all subject to change, blah blah, but its sold in one way and then turns out to be another.
The Odyssey was another example. While it was possible to determine what it would be, the marketing presented it as something better than it was.
Its somewhat bait and switch, and that's what people are angry about.
However, CIG do offer a 30(?) day refund, no questions asked period, so all people need to do is refund their Ares purchases if they were made with cash.
Perhaps if more people did that instead of just raging on the forums, CIG might take a more cautious approach to changing ships post-release and stop selling ships that punch above their weight prior to release.
Or just stop winging? They can't expect any developer of any game to leave something so over powered as is.
This is the Inferno, the ballistic version of the same ship, after they nerfed it by increasing bullet spread, its still over powered but the Ion, which unfortunately i don't have a recording of, is far worse than this, with the Ion i would have killed this NPC long before he got anywhere near me and in half the time.
The Inferno is a lot of fun because of the noise it makes and the fact that the whole ship shakes when you fire its over sized gun.
I don't know what they can do about it, the whole point of them is huge firpower to kill capital ships, you turn a gun like that on small ships its going to hurt, rather them than me trying to figure it out....
That's not the point. The point is selling something and delivering something else. And there is a systematic behaviour with CIG.

Every so often, I’m tempted to make an indigogo campaign or something, offering absolutely nothing but dreams.txt, just to get people to give me money. Why work hard for a living, when there’s people like that around?
