As an afterthought, I now have EDO running at 90 FPS in VR... With a little help from fpsVR I discovered that steam was convinced that it should be rendered at 150%... (I have ED / EDO as non-steam games as it is a Frontier launcher) Set it correctly and everything just fell nicely into place!
I know right!!! I already paid £40 for my main and now Frontier expect more!!!

I use lidocaine gel on my finger tips, with latex gloves. That way I get to feel everything, but nobody else does....
