Looks like it could be a test model from a stage of development before they decided to just arbitrarily increase the Mamba's volume ten fold and make it a cross between an FDL and a speedboat. And yeah, probably enabled via a hack.

Given the Thargoid disruptor equipped ship at San Tu, almost certainly someone having fun with hacks on a throwaway account.

I doubt Frontier would ever deliberately leak something in such an unfinished state, except as concept art.

Even Odyssey models have more than twenty polygons and are textured...except on low end systems that have LOD issues due to VRAM constraints, but those aren't deliberate.

I hope it's just those visual things and thargoid shenanigans, if oneshotting players starts again,
