I think we all know the answer to that question bother Rubbernuke!
In other news I've given The Long Dark another try. I gave up with it a few years ago finding it far too unforgiving, and with no tutorial found that I was dying with such regularity that I wasn't having fun. This time round I eshewed the story and tried survival mode. And that's even more brutal and I nearly uninstalled it when my death was permadeath - the save-game was deleted. It's not even a game setting, it's just how it has been coded. Mrs PiLhEaD mumbling about 'fuss and noise' said to use google to find a solution, having also shrugged and reminded me that I was cooking that evening.
Anyhoo, long story short, I've got further in to it, having cheated by giving my self a decent base level of clothing, and I'm really enjoying it. It is 90%-95% a walking simulator, doubly so as I play it in the realistic mode where wild animals don't spontaneously attack you, but I find it enjoyable to explore the seemingly quite large maps. I hear references on-line to Skyrim, as in this game's area is larger. Oddly there are many quite neat and subtle aspects to the game, and be aware that even with good gear a raging blizzard is something to respect - the weather effects are very well done.
Oh, and survival mode save-games can be recovered should you die... I worked out how, and it's easy'ish... ;-)
Worthy of note: I've yet to come across any beavers in the game.
Happy Friday fellot SotG'ers. It's lovely and sunny here in London-town albeit a wee bit nippy!
