55 Animal Wishlist

I'm suspicious, since there are so many animals on your list that are confirmed ;) Lol. I wish you'd work at frontier and are secretly leaking things here, since your list is so awesome and specific. :)
I absolutely do not work at Frontier, but that'd probably be the coolest job! If I could pick my job there, I'd probably want to be one of the people who go to the zoos and research the animals lol. As for so many of them being confirmed, I did mention at the top that I was including all confirmed animals (since it'd be silly to make a prediction list and not have all the confirmed ones) :p

Stumbled upon this again and noticed we are further down the line of completing this old wishlist. It might eventually be completed.

Right now we only lack exactly 10 species from it:

African Leopard
Black-and-White Colobus
Brown-Throated Sloth
Brown Squirrel Monkey
Capybara
Emu
Honey badger
Marabou
Secretary Bird
Siamang

If the new DLC would also contain another 7 species from this list it will begin to be really spooky 😱

I really wonder if Frontier made any animals didn’t make in to the game at launch?

Maybe they will surface one day. I keep on making all those lists with species that should be in the base game 🤩

I think at this point, maybe the Red Deer, Black Rhino and Dromedary - and I only say that because there is decor for those animals. Otherwise I am thinking if any animals were made for the base but instead made it into DLC, the last two years probably caught them all.

This is just my opinion, but outside of Australia and South America representation, a Penguin, White Rhino, Meerkat, Moose, Cougar and Polar Bear, the base game was pretty complete. Even the Capybara is understandable to not be a "base game" animal - I think it would have been a big contender for the SA DLC though.

The only animal that I'm still surprised has not shown up in DLC nor was included in the base game is either an African or Asian Leopard species. Still a little baffling, but, we've gotten a lot of felines.

I still wonder if they’ve made a Peccary since they’ve named one of ovl folders that way.
Animal pack with all those leftovers would be actually a nice treat 😋
1. Red deer (statue & sign)
2. Dromedary (signs)
3. Black rhino (signs)
4. Leopard (sign)
5. Red crowned crane (Asia decoration sign)
6. Peccary (folder name)
7. Porcupine (folder name)
8. Capybara (sign)

We know from aquatic pack developer journal penguin was such animal.

Those are communication errors between two teams. Recently moose showed it. There wasnt leopard sign i think.
Also capybara and porcupine are probably preparations not leftovers.

I will read developers journal. Thanks for the clue.

What do you mean about the moose? Please explain.

There is a leopard sign I use it a lot for my mods.

Capybara might be a leftover from aquatic pack since it was described in a code that way.

With the porcupine you are probably right.

Its wasnt extreme miscommunication, but still noticeable. Moose in game is Alaskan Moose. It sign wasn't wrong back then showing Alces Alces Gigas. Probably when someone told them, to do moose they thought about american subspecies, because it was going to be included in NA pack. Recently they changed map and subspecies name after feedback, but we know from files it was always supposed to be alaskan version.

Can you show it?
