META DISCUSSION What builds an ships benefit most of the new class 3/4/6 double Engineered FSD ?

4A is the tricky one,
Quite right, there's a lot of good ships that take a class 4 FSD, so I'm hoping this hits the tech brokers sooner rather than later. The one coming (probably) tomorrow, I expect I'll throw into my Dolphin taxi - between tight Odyssey landings and sticking near-ish the bubble due to the frequency of plot and module drops, I'm in it a lot these days.

But I'd quite like to get a second one, take it to Colonia, and get my DW2 Type 6 out of mothballs again.
 
The FSDs finally arrived!
I put the size 6 into my Corvette, and got one LY more jump range out of it (which is not too bad for the old Vette).
I tried to add the "mass manager" exp. effect from Elvira, but it only says "server error".
Are these pre-engineered modules not fitted for experimental effects?
Or maybe it´s just another ED server issue...
 
Community goal is complete. I sign in to get the FSDs and they are not there.

Boy this game is irritating. What in the world takes so long for these kinds of thing in this game?

I like this game but sure wastes my time and makes things difficult. Is someone just LAZY that didn't get this done or is the staff just sloppy?
It's a Supply Chain issue...

I get the same thing on my Anaconda... I hope it's only temporary. Still though, I got 3LY for free just replacing my other 6A FSD.

and you'll get another 2+ for Mass Manager

Or you get some extra integrity with Double Braced
Or some reduced Thermals with Thermal Spread.

I was going to put the 3A on my courier - but it only gained 1 LY and the thermals jumped 20% - will need to rethink that one
Same here - I forgot that my current FSD has the light weight mod on it for added speed. I'll have to see if it's going to work on my current Courier, or perhaps just build another one.
 
I agree completely. This is a good example of a larger problem.

This easy to understand "symptom" of sloppy client treatment can't simply be answered by poor performance of programmers. No. It indicates... to me at least... that there are some serious problems with management of the project.

The frequent re-introduction of old bugs with each patch demonstrates how poorly FD understands their own code.

Whenever they "fix" something - they have no idea how many things they are going to break with the patch.

Just recently noted was how a recent patch altered the drift of the Cutter that is a problem listed as fixed previously. Trying to land it on a FC is hilarious as it overshoots the pad a few times when you use the DC. Each patch turns into an exercise to determine what is fixed, what is broken, and what/if a given phenomenon is "working as intended' or just another bug introduced as an unforeseen consequence.

Sloppy at the very least...

Can we finally apply experimental effects to the enhanced frame shift drives from Colonia Bridge 3?

Or that issues hasn't been fixed yet?

I've opened a new thread concerning that specific question/bug, I've realized this thread is about just "where" to use the enhanced fsd. Perhaps we can keep track about the so waited fix there.

And about my opinion:

6 to Conda
3 to Viper
4 to FerDeLance/Mamba/Vulture, depending your preferences (I take FerDeLance)
