Console Update

While I feel sad for the console players, I think it was the only solution to keep moving forward with EDO.

That being said, I'm still struggling to understand why your communication is so inconsistant. I've been playing this game since 2018 and it's always the same. We get a few months of total lack of information / communication and than the team comes back with a lot of nice promises that they keep for 1-3 months before going radio silent again.

You can't ask your playerbase to support and enthusiasts about your game when you're not able to give them an idea where the game is heading.

Now that the console case is closed I really hope that FDev will offer more insight on what they are working on and what are their LONG TERM plans for the game...not only what is coming in the next update...

For me, knowing that the game I play will still deliver new content in the future will give me more motivation to put hours in it and continue to progress in it. So please FDev, tell us what is your plan for EDO now that you focus only on the PC version please.

If accounts can't be transferred, at least credits can be laundered through a friend's carrier to a PC account. Sell off all the ships then buy high/sell low to the carrier, then reverse to your PC account.

Lose all of the ranks, engineering, stats, etc... but it's better than nothing.

I'll be taking everything to the grave with me.

This game has been lie after lie.
Remember "all platforms will be on parity"?
Remember "10 seasons"?
Remember "Odyssey will come to console"?
Remember this:

Come on dude, you should be holding their feet to the fire. Not excuse their behavior.
That's why Frontier gets away with this stuff. Because they got a cult like fan base who will excuse anything.
Some can criticize without needing to try to burn it all down to prove whatever it is they are actually trying to prove, and frankly when criticism gets into that territory then they're on their own and I'll have no part in it. Though I hear it can lead to great adsense profit, viewer engagement if discussed on certain a video platform, especially if you can't make it by providing constructive content.

It'll receive no new content or QoL updates ever again. We have waited 10 months pretty patiently to hear this news, that console players will never get out of their seats and walk about their FCs and stations. We're never going to be welcomed to the party so what's the point in continuing?
Surely you can understand the anger and disgust in the blatant dismissal of the console player base by FDev?
Keeping the servers running until there's no console players left is a cop out instead of compensating us for outstanding ARX balances.
And I bet they will still charge ppl on console for cosmetics,

They would still charge you for the base game though,

Not really hes just making fun of folks who are quoting British consumer law and clearly have no clue whatsoever they are talking about.
If anyone really thinks they have a leg to stand on taking Fdev to court for 'Not fit for purpose' they are sadly deluded, they wont get past the legal aid phase.

The 'take them to Small Claims Court' thing is not as ridiculous as some people are making it out to be.

It costs £35 to make a claim of up to £300. If it gets to court and you lose, you're only on the hook for the fixed costs, not their legal fees.

The chance of you getting that £300? Somewhere approaching zero. However, Frontier have to deal with it one way or another (pay up, propose mediation, or fully contest), and that will incur a cost to them, whichever route they take.

While not the intended purpose of the court, it very definitely can be (and regularly is) used by disgruntled customers to, as my solicitor puts it, "Materially Annoy" a business. I know this, because I've been on the receiving end of a couple of them. Both times I won, and both times winning cost me more than just settling at the start.

Given that 'Poor Customer Service' is a valid reason for a claim, I actually wouldn't be so sure that 'I bought these ARX with the expectation of using them for Space Boots in the near future' is a guaranteed loss.

Is it petty? Sure. Is it effective at getting a remedy? Not in the slightest. Is it worth £35 (Plus Fixed Costs if you lose) just to get a company to spend a small amount of time/money it otherwise wouldn't have had to? Well, I guess that depends just how disgruntled someone is.

So the plan of attack then is to be petty and spiteful since, as you put it, the chances of getting anything tangible out of it are "somewhere approaching zero" but you're setting out to "materially annoy" them.

Essentially "If I can't play it on my console, I want to make sure nobody else can either."

Sounds fair and reasonable in today's climate, and not likely to be a waste of time at all ;)

As someone who has been burned multiple times over the last seven decades, I understand the pain of a lost investment. This is not the last time a game company will disappoint a significant number of it's customers.

However, the end of console development has been a possibility for a year, and the more experienced among us have been unsurprised at this announcement.

What is not known is the future of the PC versions of the game. Those who demean console players may themselves find little sympathy when the time comes.

So, have a little charity.
