I'm rather disappointed, the wait was so long that we expected something gigantic like aviaries finally! But the new features all just seem like polishing up many minor things in the game instead of introducing any actual new mechanic.

Capybaras in hot springs will be nice, but flying birds are the #1 priority for this game. After 2 years of no aviaries it feels like this game will never be complete.
Self grooming behaviours don't seem like an actual feature to me, I would prefer brachiating Gibbons instead of bathing Macaques.
This is just the free update. The DLC has not yet been announced. 🤞

You have expected this, not all of us. Sorry, but speaking as "we" always is not the best idea because everyone has other wishes from the game. And I must say that I just expected a normal pack either animal or standard. Eastern pattern made sense to me so there was not really a mich longer time than other packs. And I am happy about this. I really do not mind if we get flying birds in the game. If we get taht should be a bigger expanaion and flying should work good. Perhaps this is the problem and aviaries are at the Moment technically restricted. Some more habitat birds would be cool like Kiwi, crane or Pelikan in my opinion. But that ist of course my opinion

They mentioned rice terrace?

This all looks amazing. I’m so intrigued about what the DLC will be and I kinda like that I don’t know. Part of me leans towards tropical now with the hot springs. But I also do wonder if Frontier were going to do a huge announcement like aviaries or even fully aquatic would they try to steer us off with the updates? These aren’t always connected are they?

My new DLC template will have nine animals called animal scenery pack!

Rainforest Animal Scenery Pack
  1. Capybara
  2. Maned Wolf
  3. Red River Hog
  4. Toco Toucan
  5. Fossa
  6. Siamang
  7. Golden Lion Tamarin
  8. Common Marmoset
  9. Tokay Gecko (Exhibit Animal)
Take away one of the animals to get it down to 8, the Toucan most likely for no aviation, and this is actually a really reasonable and realistic pack idea.

to the update, this is great news. Lots of great little features. The camera mode sounds like, bathing for animals will be awesome, we're not that far off!

While these features definitely are more of the "polishing" variety, I think once we get our hands on them they'll all be incredibly useful. And those that aren't universally useful will probably inspire me to create builds for animals I haven't in a while (e.g., aquatic exhibit animals, Japanese macaques).

I'm really excited to see these new features in play to see how they operate, etc. Offhandedly, I'm most excited to see how the terrace brush works! I can see that being incredibly useful for creating smaller terrain changes and adding layers to your zoo.

Also very excited for the smaller burrows!

The fact that they mention rice terraces, potentially hints at 3 things:
  • We're gonna get some form of an Asian pack.
  • We're gonna get rainforests instead of a continent.
  • They're continuing the inside joke of introducing items that the Koali crew spent hours on creatively inventing because they didn't have it ingame.

To add to this offering, you'll also be able to incorporate your Webcam feeds from burrows onto your billboards, allowing your guests to get a closer look at your animals when they are using their burrows!
I'm a bit confused about this part here. Wasn't this already a thing ingame?

The burrows will come with internal habitat cameras that you can access through the burrow info panels, so you can see exactly what's happening underground! Plus, with the ability to link them to billboard screens, this means your guests won't miss out either!

This was from the previous announcement, but there might be something I'm missing 😅
