Seriously now... any word on the heat sinks actual ammo count?
This is what they showed on their stream today: 5 ammo pre-engineered. so maybe we can engineer them up to 6 ammo (never know with fdev being so wrong sometimes)

Ammo Capacity is an engineering modification, not an experimental effect. There are no experimental effects for heatsinks.

If you apply the standard Ammo Capacity mod to your pre-engineered module, you will lose any and all pre-engineered mods and end up with a standard 4-ammo heatsink, effectively botching your CG module.

On the other hand, even If there were experimental effects for heatsinks, Fdev already said pre-engineered CG modules will not accept experimental effects anymore.

I wouldn't put it past fdev to use words incorrectly, but.... if we cannot engineer it any further, they should use already-engineered, or post-engineered.

You could save a lot of money at the holidays with that logic giving out "prepaid" debit cards with zero balance.

b: in advance : beforehand
pre-engineered = engineered beforehand or in advance. It done already been doned to it.

One of those words I have never in my entire life actually given detailed thought on "pre", but here's my thinking: now that I've given thought about it, I do doubt that fdev actually coded the heatsink as like stock and can be engineered further.
Also, they did add the engineered symbol to it, which shows already-engineered.
I wish they would have said something like already-special-engineered instead of the misleading pre-engineered.

I really hope FDEV make all of the special CG modules eventually available via tech brokers. The heatsinks are no big deal at first glance, but they do have secondary implications that give substantial advantages. On my Corvette for example I can now cover dualbanking two SCBs with one heatsink. That is freeing up one utility slot, giving me one more shield booster, giving me 500 MJ more Biweave shield. If I had a prismatic there, it would be even more. No one could care less for PvE, but some of the CG modules impact PvP balance. And even while I personally don't PvP, I do see the concerns this can raise if modules like that remain permanently exclusive.

I wil also use this heatsinks on Corvette and FdL,with prismatic shields, for PvP. I like PvP from time to time, when I'm bored with everything else, especially in CG CZ.
But what about reload time? We have to try to see impact of this reload time.

Should be 5 seconds.

Yeah, I canNOT believe I fell for this. Saw the Galnet news saying they were available for pickup, so I toddled off there thinking "Wow, Frontier are on the ball - maybe the fellas on the forum claiming that with consoles shuttered we'll see an improvement all round in the other areas are right!"

More fool me!
Consoles have never been the problem, Frontier management is more likely the problem. Console players are happy (still) to play in a console only universe and wait another year if need be for FDEV to sort out their and hire some people to work on if needed a seperate console Elite. Or licence it out, whatever. Blaming Xbox and Playstation communities for PC players lack of progress is just silly and thanks guys

Or even "double-engineered," as pre-engineered mods have sometimes been referred to by players on various forums, since so far all pre-engineered modules have had two mods applied or the same mod applied twice.

Where do I get my heat sink launcher? I've tried going into outfitting on trobairitz windows that only have the normal ones

Edit: just found them in my stored modules

Hmm, these heatsinks are much more interesting than I've anticipated.
5 "shots" compared to normal mod's 4, and +75% reload time (17.5s) compared to +50% (15s).
This makes them an excellent choice to use with large A-rated SCBs (6A-8A), which also have 5 "shots". Especially when firing two SCBs at the same time.
