Odds of the next animal pack being the "Savannah animal pack"

Well I put the animals that i particularly want in the game, if my list is weak, make yours
As for the 9 habitat animals, well, I can't remove any of them, I didn't focus on making exact numbers the same as always comes in DLC's
So I looked up "savanna" and it turns out those do exist in Australia and South America as well, but since every list on savanna animals only discusses Africa, there's no way I can form a proper list...

And what do you mean you can't remove any? Because there is an edit button and at this point in time there's really no reason to assume a DLC pack will feature more than seven habitat animals.

I would call it Safari animal pack and put grassland animals from the all continents in it:

Maned wolf
Emu
Giant eland
Serval
Black rhino
Indian Porcupine
Blackbuck
Przewalski horse

also baboon and leopard would be great 😊

If Frontier is willing to continue with broad biome packs, then I'd say the "Wetlands Pack" is likely to be followed by a "Drylands Pack" in summer, representative of 'Desert' and 'Grassland' biomes in the game and a "Highlands Pack" in winter, representative of 'Taiga' and potentially 'Tundra' biomes. Heck, we could even get a "Woodlands" or "Lowlands" pack for 'Temperate' and 'Tropical' biomes with forest/woodlands animals in fall or spring.

This is a really great pack. I would switch out the Blackbuck or Eland with the Baboon. That way you have a primate and don't have two antelope type animals. . Also personally would rather have the Crested Porcupine, but I would be consider any of the Old World porcupines to be an acceptable replacement.

@DrBurrito I think the idea of a mixed pack works well as well. Consider the Wetlands were a mix of Aquatic and Tropical focused animals (though of course some had other biomes). Drylands as you say, Desert and Grassland. And Highlands/Mountainous would be Taiga and Temperate IMO, or as you said Taiga and Tundra, since the Temperate could possibly hold its own.

This is my hope, personally. Based purely on top 7 meta-wishlist, the packs could be something like:
Drylands:
  • Przewalski's Horse
  • Maned Wolf
  • African Crested Porcupine
  • Emu
  • Secretary Bird
  • Common Wombat
  • Caracal/Dromedary

Woodlands:
  • Tasmanian Devil
  • Lar Gibbon
  • Red River Hog
  • Brown-Throated Three-Toed Sloth
  • Fossa
  • Goodfellow’s Tree Kangaroo
  • South American Coati

Highlands:
  • Amur Leopard
  • Wolverine
  • Musk Ox
  • Hamadryas Baboon
  • Red Fox
  • Takin
  • Markhor
Of course, I'd like for some lower-tier picks to be added in as well.

It's still bonkers to me that people are seriously speculating for four animal packs this year.
Is it so unreasonable? I don't think it's likely, but in the long term once support is over I'd rather be able to have six more habitat animals to play with rather than two new building themes (though I would still like building themes). And it seems harder to do thematically relevant building themes for biome packs -- although the Aquatic Pack pulled it off pretty well.

I think it’s possible if this ends up being the last year. But if we get content through most of next year definitely think it would likely alternate between the two types of packs

Agree. Not only scenery packs are doing better, but is easier for Frontier to do scenery for biome pack. Similar to animals they can pick building theme from every corner of the world related to main subject of pack. For example grassland pack can feature mix of mongolian, prairie and savanna scenery.

I will be honest. Anyone who think there are no more relevant building themes just lack imagination. Frontier definitely will come with something innovative and unique.

We know there's likely going to be at least 3 more packs (not necessarily all this year). What if there ends up being support for all of next year as well. Just for example, 3 animal packs in total for this year. And then four packs that alternate AP and SP next year. As far as number of packs go, it would be the same number of packs released in 2020 and 2021. Yes, the pandemic likely affected the number of packs in 2020. But still, 3 packs of all animals this year....is that so bad?

That'd be cool, but unless they added a lot more pieces, the pack would either have 3 small, incomplete-feeling themes, or one large theme with three totally disparate styles.

Yes, since it’d mean no new build stuff for over a year. Fortunately, as NZFanatic says, it’s very unlikely we’ll get only animal packs.
That point of view is definitely understandable and you're right, it likely will be a mix of type of packs. I actually am enjoying the building parts of the game more and more (though I may not actually be getting better at it), and do appreciate the scenery packs for what they offer. But if it comes down to more animals vs. the scenery pack makeup, my choice is always going to be on the side of the animals (another European pack excepting, I'd love some more European architecture!)

Sorry I'm new here so I don't understand why it's a ridiculous idea? The Wetlands Pack seemed like a ridiculous idea before we got it and now look at us. I'd say anything could happen this year. Wetlands is evidence that maybe frontier is just mixing some things up. I'd still would like scenery packs however don't get me twisted now yall 😄

Because Frontier values the builders more highly than the animal-lovers. It's always been this way. Content creators are free advertising for Frontier, and content creators push out more content when they have new pieces to build with. Last year we got two animal packs and two scenery packs, which worked out to be a perfect balance that pretty much everyone was happy with. There is no reason, at all, to believe they would break from this formula.

Also, in what way did the Wetlands Pack seem like a ridiculous idea? We've been speculating over biome-focused packs since November 2019; I don't think anybody thought it was ridiculous.

Not necessarily - the Aquatic Pack building set wasn't specifically based on any one style. Although the closest it came to was "New England Maritime" or something, it's a building style used all over the world. For a desert/grasslands pack they could do something similar; prairie farm/American west/rancher buildings are fairly ubiquitous.

A Farm/Ranch Set would be really nice. Would probably add lots of awesome Backstage Stuff. But I'd expect it more for a Petting Zoo Pack

I'm talking more about "little house on the prairie" style buildings, not barnyards.

Clapboard/weatherboard, more wooden beams and trimming, proper wooden roofs, wooden prop fences, that sort of thing. These are all emblematic of desert/grassland style settlements across the western world, largely driven by colonialism (Australian ranches, Old Western towns in America, Dutch colonial settlements in South Africa, and so on). You could make a pretty great and universally useful theme out of this sort of thing.
