Elite Dangerous/Sim Racing Rig - show me your gear setups

Hi All

I am an Elite Dangerous player who in the last 18 months switched from PS4 console to PC. I play between both platforms and wIth the launch of Gran Turismo 7 my passion for Racing sims has been re-ignited, so much so that I want to invest in an aluminium extrusion sim rig.

I want my Rig to be both a Flight and Race cockpit. Not a huge issue as you can get HOTAS mounts, however, due to Odyssey I now need to use a keyboard and mouse FPS style.
Another curve ball is that I am based in New Zealand and our options here are more limited than the rest of the World.

My plan is to get a Trak Racer TR80 (when in stock) - here: https://trakracer.co.nz/products/tr80-racing-simulator-mk5
and the table/keyboard tray here: https://trakracer.co.nz/collections...-620mm-table-top-desk-with-swivel-mount-black

The table/keyboard tray looks like it will work but I was interested to see how anyone in the community may have solved this issue combined with a full sim rig.

I look forward to seeing your solutions /suggestions.

See you in the black cmdr’s.

Homemade but works great. The HOTAS tray would be in my lap when seated, flying and off to the side on the small stool when driving.

Not a sim rig as I also play other games that make sitting at a desk more practical.

But my setup is geared around flying space ships like Elite, X4, Empyrion - Galactic Survival and now Star Citizen.

Solution for on foot would be a gameboard (One handed keyboard) like I use the Logitech G13 (along with the G19 as MagicMau's G19 app displays in game information on the screens). I know a number of companies make mounts for them to attach to SimRigs.

Sadly the G13 have been discontinued for a number of years and for some reason attract silly prices second hand on seller sites.
Modern gameboards include the Razer Tartarus V2 and many cheap gameboards on Ali Express.

I'm into race/flight/spaceshippy sims too!
There's a knobbed set bolt on a shaft and the HOTAS setup pulls off there. I have a force feedback steering wheel combo that I can swap out to in a couple minutes. Most of it is homemade and all is interchangeable with my main and basement rec-room setup. VR setups are Reverb G2 and Rift S.

I'm designing a new setup that will be easier to enter/exit and not so low to the ground. I have some adjustment on my main for the stick and throttle to sit more like in-game bu the new setup features swing away keyboard and throttle and more adjustment for shifter. My daughter is a lefty so I have to make everything swappable too.

Nice, clean setup, but don't your arms get tired without elbow rests?
