EDO discount on Steam/Epic, but not in Frontier store?

EDO just went -40% on Steam and Epic, but not on Frontier store.
Any info if this will follow soon?
If possible I'd like to re-buy EDO directly from FDev, not switching to Steam/Epic for Elite.

I'd be disappointed if the discount was not applied to the Frontier store after it was applied during the last Steam / Epic sale of EDO.

I hope they discount it after the accounts transfer too, maybe not immediately but not too long. Keeping the cash flow and goodwill intact…..ish..

They've had years of not running discounts on their own store (until the recent one that reverted after a day). I ended up buying Odyssey for an fdev account on Steam rather than wait - if they don't want the money that is their choice 🤷‍♂️

I'm not trying to troll this post, but just a few words for you.
This is why Steam Powered is 2nd to NONE.

Steam is quite like an open architecture platform, it caters to everything and anyone unless the title or company is proprietary and prefers to use its own launcher system, which isn't a bad thing as most companies use Steam as open advertising and promotions for the company.
There are a lot of companies that don't do this, I don't see why not as it's a win win for both.
But as Mod mentioned I would be surprised as well but Frontier Development has does have quite a bit on their plate right now....LOL

In 4 decades, I've never purchased a title from anywhere but Steam. Very nice support and easy to work with as refunds if need be.

Yes, there are a lot of companies that link Steam. That's one of the reasons I love and only use Steam. Many companies let Steam run promotions for them, kind of nice deal as you can rack up some goodies. I was able to buy 3 titles for free over the years. Not current or full price mind you, just the smaller and older, but I figure that's not such a bad deal I suppose.
Never gone wrong with them.......Yet..:)
I just hope Frontier can push some promotions here soon too. Poor Frontier has had a bad year with Elite but the price drops and promos with Odyssey will hopefully help out.

Hmm... it was around the easter holidays. The sale went live on friday - unannounced... - shut down on saturday and then live again on sunday, iIrc...

I bought it for one of my alt commanders with Frontier acc because I always waited for such an occasion... I guess if FD had announced it before they'd sold some more copies of EDO... but... 🤷‍♂️

Steam is gold standard for me too. Centralisation, security. Great choice of games. In fact, if the game is not on steam, it’s immediately suspicious. Often means that a gaming corp can’t comprehend that Steam will make them more money than they ever would alone. Bad sign that.

Aside from this little bit of pro-steam propaganda, I’d advise to the opening poster to wait some months for an even bigger discount on Odyssey.

Each time I hear about a Steam sale, I'm tempted.. I'm not quite there yet, but I'm closer than I was. Today's livesteam was another push in the right direction. But I think I'll wait and see how update 12 lives up to the expectations, especially regarding performance and visuals.

Yes, I remember something similar and also bought an alt when it was available again.

So if I own EDO and ED through FDEV and want second commander do i need to buy EDO and ED again with a second install or can i just login on my current install with new email address. Why does everything have to be so complicated. Why not one click in game for second commander and heres my cash, but no that would be too easy. Im sure they would sell a hell of lot more multiple commander accounts if it were that easy. Buying another commander should be as easy as buying a paint job!

You have to buy it again, of course... But if you stay on the same "platform" (FD, Steam , Epic) the game shares the installation.
