Elite Dangerous: Odyssey | Update 12 Update Notes

No mention of fixing distant planets/moons being invisible in Odyssey. Would love that fixed since you see it (or not) all the time and while it's not gamebreaking, it's a very obvious regression and still works as expected in Horizons.

This and the missing SRV tracks. It really is a pity that we are slowly losing features. (n)

Great work! I am anxious to try the UI elements whilst seated. How does that work?
  • Added the ability to access a number of UI elements whilst seated, such as the comms panel.

Hopefully the CTD I experience occasionally when disembarking from an SRV will be fixed, even though I don't see it in the list...

Horizons Update
  • Allow pre-engineered modules to have granular modification restrictions applied (e.g. allowing certain CG modules to have experimentals applied)
I managed to put experimental mass manager on those three CG FSD-s a few days ago. They did get slight increase in range and showed correct G5 marks.
So, what's this 👆 about? Yes, Horizons only.
tnx

Not just Horizons. Read the patch notes right at the top and you see this,

  • The "Pre-Engineered" Frame Shift Drives obtained through recent in-game events can now have experimental effects applied.
    • This change also includes descriptions, tooltips, and fixes to various UI flows for many other pre-engineered modules allowing Commanders to better identify which modules are pre-engineered and if they will accept any further modification.
    • The development and customer support teams would like to thank everyone who waited patiently for this fix.
Not specific to be fair as to Horizons or Oddity, but with those notes looks like both versions.

I thought Gordon was teasing ubermick, but it's just the thumbnails. 😂

Game pad playing PC players. There is a tier below keyboard and mousing a flight sim type game. someone should start a go-fund-me to get these needy players joysticks.
Then you have people like me, who started playing on XBox with a controller, considered moving to a HOTAS as an upgrade to now; playing on PC and choosing to use an XBox controller...and bring perfectly happy never having to touch the keyboard nor needing more than 32 buttons. 🤷‍♂️

I'm playing the game 100% on HOTAS, even the on foot part. The good old CH HOTAS with it's analog throttle thumbstick which no other HOTAS has is simply ideal. And being old, each device in the whole set also obeys the 32 buttons rule. In fact each of the HOTAS pieces only has 16 buttons.

I'm using a relatively low-end joystick and I'm satisfied with it. Wouldn't mind a couple more buttons and better sensitivity, though.

Seems over bloated with some improvements such as secondary ships are Finally count towards the mission in conflict zones if I understood correctly and if it is actually happens, we'll see tomorrow I guess. Also with so many "art" fixes why the cutter stairs were not fixed? Disappointing

I guess they will get their overhaul when/if we ever get to actually use them.
