The 4 Animal Only Habitat Wishlist

That's a really tuogh challenge, as I still want so many species. It's really heavy on primates, but a tree kangaroo and some more birds were really close.
  • Coquerel's sifaka
  • Great white pelican
  • Golden lion tamarin
  • Geoffroy's spider monkey

Update to Abigenius

Definitely some frontrunners starting to emerge!

Kinda interesting to compare to the Meta Wishlist - a lot of similar species turning up here already to the high reaches of that list, but with a few exceptions!

No votes for Lar Gibbon, which is currently 4th on the Meta - presumably Siamang drastically reduced demand there?
Common Wombat is 8th on the Meta, but only one vote here so far.
Brown-throated Three-toed sloth is 10th on the meta, but all votes here have been for two toed sp. - which ranked 38th on meta.
No votes at all yet for Musk Ox (17th on Meta), Dromedary (=19th), Grey-crowned Crane (23rd),

Like others have said, this is very difficult...

1. Emu
2. Tasmanian devil
3. Red-necked wallaby
4. Australian pelican

These will bulk up Oceania, give us a bird for lakes and ponds and a couple of typical small zoo animals which will go nicely alongside species like the capybara and Asian small-clawed otter for example.

Hmm... Ok, these are the animals I would put in absolutely every zoo:

1. Red deer
2. Wisent
3. Mara
4. Wallaby sp.

Update as to yoav_r

Crested Porcupine is no longer leader, with emu knocking it down to second.

Please just to reiterate - try not to give broad "Order" level answers because it makes keeping tallies a pain if I have to somehow capture the data of multiple ranks of taxonomy. Family, Species and in certain cases Subspecies - all fine, but not above that! I've included answers for now by merging with the closest extant answer, but remember, you probably wouldn't just answer "Monkey" to this, so that same detail principle applies to other picks!

This is some interesting data at this point. There's several animals that have done well on the larger metalist, but have only one (or no votes) as of last count: Baboon, Fossa, Wombat (as alarming as that last one would be for me personally, since it's my #1), Gibbon - meanwhile some animals that are just midrange in the meta list like the Spectacled Bear and Kiwi are faring very well here so far.

Most on the top of the list are pretty much the same as the top 10 in the meta wishlist, though not in the same order. Still not enough votes to get to any conclussions though.

This is true. I'm hoping this thread really takes off and gets a lot of submissions. Randomgoat done so much for maintaining and updating the metalist over the last year and a half, there aren't enough words to express the appreciation there. At the same time, when people submit their list of 25 animals, it may not be in any particular order. Probably the #1 on people's list is their most wanted because that's likely people that make sure they list their most wanted. Beyond that I'm not so sure, but i'm sure not everyone does their lists "in order" like do mine. So paring it down to one pack's worth really gets a finer look at what animals people desperately want.

1. Mallard Duck - To quote Avon Barksdale from HBO's The Wire, "I'm just a gangsta, I suppose. And I want my ducks" (I think that's how that went...)
2. Markhor - imo the last, true remaining Zoo Tycoon icon that doesn't have an equivalent in the Planet Zoo
3. Two-Toed Sloth - I go with two-toed because three-toed are very rare in zoos due to their highly restrictive diet
4. North Island Brown Kiwi - I'm a birb boi and am riding that kiwi train

Here's my four. It's the same and usual I added in other part of this forum.

  1. African leopard
  2. Dromedary camel
  3. Any baboon species
  4. Other gibbon species beside siamang (different colors in genders like Lar gibbon while for siamangs, both genders are same color)
Any questions?

I always thought that the Lar gibbon Coates color depends on the gender, too. But this is according to Wikipedia which I have read about the Lar gibbon two weeks ago, not the case. Both gender can have all colors. But nevertheless the Lar Gibbon can have a huge amount of color variations between sandy brown to brown and black which would be a nice-to-have if we should get them.
