Next 2 dlc predictions to round off the year

Hi all! -

As the thread name suggests, I wanted to share my predictions for the next 2 dlc's to wrap up the year 2022 for Planet Zoo; with that said I encourage whoever reads this to place your predictions too. Also, if you agree/disagree with my predictions; without further ado let me share my predictions!

September/October - Tropical Rainforest Animal Pack: This included highly requested, and some wildcard animal additions.

December - Oceania Pack: A scenery pack with more Australian/Oceania pieces, and the animals include tassie devil as the headliner; followed by emu, wombat, kiwi, as habitat animals; with the exhibit animal being Lord Howe Island stick insect, or tuatara.

What do you think, what do you want most for the next 2 packs? Thank you so much for reading!

Honestly, considering how unpredictable Frontier has been with the pack releases lately (not that I'm complaining), my predictions will probably be completely wrong, but here goes.

Woodlands Animal Pack
  • Tasmanian Devil
  • Wolverine
  • Geoffroy's Spider Monkey
  • Spectacled Bear
  • Elk
  • Red-Necked Wallaby
  • Golden Pheasant
  • King Cobra
Islands Pack
  • Goodfellow's Tree Kangaroo
  • Southern Rockhopper Penguin
  • North Island Brown Kiwi
  • Coquerel's Sifaka
  • Fiji Banded Iguana
  • Caribbean architecture building theme

Umm i like the idea of a Forest animal pack (like i've said in other topics about the same thing). A pack that includes animals from all types of forests around the world, because i think it could be very diverse in the animal choices and would give the chance to include a lot of community favorites: tasmanian devil, wolverine, red deer, red river hog, spectacled bear/american black bear, primates, etc.

The option for the end of the year is something i haven't thought that much about... but if they go for a regular DLC with five animals something like Islands with Caribbean or Hawaian props or a Nocturnal House pack with the building pieces necesary for that could work as well. IDK.

I've posted my ideas for the animals in those kinds of packs already in other posts, but those are my general thoughts.

Predictions are so hard right now. So much so because we honestly don't know if it's just two more packs and that's it, or part of 2023, or all of 2023. It makes a difference in a lot of ways and they all play with expectations and potential for new mechanics.

So what I'm going to two is choose both options. I think I've put up similar lists, but there may be some changes as well.

Only two packs left scenario:

Autumn- Oceania animal pack. I think a revisit to oceania in the form of an animal pack would be really well received by the community. All regions of the world are lacking some sort of animal, but Oceania is the most lacking.
Emu
Tasmanian Devil (Star Animal)
Wombat species
Tree Kangaroo species
Kiwi
Little Blue Penguin
Wallaby/Quokka/Grey Kangaroo/Numbut/etc - the unexpected habitat animal slot.
Exhibit: Taratua

Winter - "Finale" type of animal pack. I would really hope, that if there are only two packs left, that they end up both being animal packs. It's the only scenario I see that happening though. If packs will be continuing on through 2023, expect an animal pack/4+1+scenery pattern. But since this is the layout for only two packs left:
Gibbon species
Red River Hog
Maned Wolf
Old World Porcupine species
Wolverine
Secretary Bird
Shoebill Stork/Fossa/Dromedary/Red Deer/Spectacled Bear/Raccoon/Baboon - a less popular but still fairly popular choice.
Exhibit: Cobra or Chameleon species.

I'm really not sure which would be the "star" animal as they're all very popular choices.

Two packs for 2022 left and 1-4 packs for 2023 scenario:

Autumn - Birds/Avian. Introducing what the community has been clamoring for the most. The only way I see a new mechanic like this being introduced is for the game to continue to have content for 2023 as well. I just don't feel like they can properly represent the avian world with the next to last pack. Never mind that there will probably be supported needed to fix the bugs that come with them. But anyways - Avians!!:
Bald Eagle (co-star animal)
Toco Toucan (Co-star animal)
Scarlet/Hyacinth/Blue and Yellow Macaw
Secretary Bird
African Grey Parrot
Kookaburra
Australian Pelican
Rhinoceros Hornbill
No Exhibit animal here.

Winter - something involving temperate/taiga/highlands type of biome, with the scenery being Bavarian themed. I know we can already make that ourselves (I have done a much less than perfect set myself lol) and it was used a lot in the European set, but I'd love to see at least the gridded pieces already have wooden patterns on it, rather than see them as needing blueprints.
Wolverine (star animal)
Spectacled Bear
Red Deer/Markhor
Raccoon
No Exhibit animal but we get another flying bird with the Trumpeter Swan. I'd prefer a mute swan but I'm not sure the biome fits. That would bring us to 12 flying birds (the 3 in game now, and the 8 from the Avian pack), but with more to come in 2023.

These next 2 are anyones guess but here’s my thoughts. I had originally predicted this years theme would be “lands packs” after we got wetlands. I really like how diverse it was giving us aquatic biomes but from all over the world and with unique combos of biomes plus there’s one from each continent (except for NA).
I don’t remember the popularity of the SEA animals but I think I can say they were all in the top 100 of the meta list. NA had 5 very big requested animals and the 4+1 generally had top contenders. The animal packs also included low requests that many of us felt could have gone to someone else, in my opinion Red River Hog >Lechwe, alligator snapping turtle>spectacled Caiman, Trumpeter Swan>prarie dogs etc.

While looking at our top 50 meta animals I struggled to come up with the best candidates for another lands pack but here’s what I got.

grasslands
Nine banded armadillo
Rhea
Wisents
Serval
Saiga
Golden Jackal
Tasmanian devils
Leopard Gecko

Dryland
Collared Peccary
Manned wolf
Barbary macaque
Caracal
Markhor
Emu
Dromedary
Indian cobra

Mountains
Coastal mountain goat
Andean bear
Red Fox
Golden Takin
Gelada
Wallaby or lyrebird
Tree kangaroo
Idk

I can see these animal packs making the final cut or a combo of them all. At least I can expect frontier to swap one animal for something close but not the same (think how requested the lar gibbon was and we got siamangs) and to our mixed opinions take 2 and give us 2 unpopular oddballs.
Free features
An ape getting brachiation
A new staff feature
Some kind of education feature
Alternative cars for rides

Now when it comes to 4+1 and scenary I’m not gonna try and guess animals. But I’d guess scenery would have something to match above mentions.

Anniversary should include American flamingo, Nile croc, Barbary macaque or Perentie

Heck I got one more idea
If we don’t get birds and aviaries, carousels, petting zoos, or any of the wonderful ideas that frontier doesn’t seem to have interest in. After these last 2 dlcs, they give us 1 in 2023 called the…
Thank you dlc
Give us 10 new rig animals
Several clones of existing animals
New types of exhbit critters 5 maybe
Some miscellaneous scenic pieces
Flags and banners
All that as their thank you goodbye dlc

Or to be continued in 2023

So you basically want to have 4 DLCs, a whole year of work, in one DLC? Good luck 😅

I doubt we'd see something that packed with content, but I'm definitely on board for the last pack they release to be something more general focused, instead of one particular theme. Hopefully we don't see that kind of pack until the end of 2023 or even 2024, and we get a lot of animals in the meantime.

To be honest frontier like to end game support with more expensive dlc. They openly said it in one of their videos its their way to just make more money before moving on.
Something related to endangered animals would be good option, but with release of conservation pack im not sure anymore what it could be.
Would be interesting to see for example dlcs based on some zoos from england like chester zoo pack or london zoo pack.

Which is personally fine by me as long as the content is decent. Of course, "decent" is subjective. I don't see them throwing out a totally new mechanic like flying or fully marine animals the final DLC as the DLC formats are now, but I guess there would be potential to make $20 pack for something like 15-20 flying birds or 15-20 marine animals.

Something like 12 animals in one pack or 8 animals + scenery for 15$ is more reasonable as the final DLC.

If I recall correctly from watching lionryders prediction video, I never played PC but wasn’t the Ghostbusters DLC the final and was it something really special as the final farewell or was it as average as any PC dlc?

I never played it either, but AFAIK it had a bit more content but it wasn't known to be the last DLC. There was no announcement or fanfare about it, support just ended shortly after and for months PC players were still waiting for news until the console version became a thing.

This is the most practical. At this point i am not sure then DLC would end if it will then we need something like this. Please also give us some fish of rig and bird rig.
