Lavecon 2022 | Frameshift Live Information #12

Just home after a long travel and feel the blues as well.

Great meeting the community and the community team there. Location was perfect for the event and the hotel offered lovely food. Would Lavecon again. o7.

Time to catch some sleep. o_O

It was a fantastic weekend. From karting, to the Brewdog shindig on Friday, the big day itself and the fun Frameshift Live broadcast, plenty of socialising and imbibing of beverages throughout the weekend, capped off yesterday with a hilariously clueless attempt at the Artemis Ship Bridge Simulator before blowing up spectacularly whilst all saluting our brave captain. What stood out the most for me though was the enthusiasm, passion and warmth of everyone there. Big thanks to HWS Events and Spidermind for organising, all the Devs that came and mingled later on (and answered my waffling questions on Saturday night, sorry Tom ;) ), but especially the CM Team for being awesome and the glue that holds us all together in between.

o7 to you all.

Forgot to share my Lavecon Loot. :D

Also wanted to say thank you to the Frontier Comteam (Arthur is even more sexy in person than on the streams!) for getting involved and all the amazing Artists and content creators who attended.

Imagine seeing some stranger on the beach, holding this ED thermos... and you just pass by and casually say "oh seven commander".
Bet that would lead to an awesome IRL chat :)

I have an Elite sticker on the back of my car and I always hope that some random Commander will salute me when passing on the road :D

Didn't happen so far... I remember a post from one of the FB groups, where someone went to a dentist for some treatment and it turned out they played Elite too :D

Or kick you in the bumper if he happens to be a ganker :ROFLMAO:

Btw shame that Frontier doesn't have baseball caps with logo for sale. I'd buy and wear that on vacation, just for purpose of being recognized by fellow Cmdrs.
Shirts are ok, but can't wear one all the time and is not so visible imho.

They can't salute because they are too busy trying to interdict you. 😁

You guys made a discord channel? :ROFLMAO:

I would occasionally read that thread and laugh and wonder why it all went away. I guess I understand now.
Yea, I miss that SoTG too on ED Forums - don't use Discord as it is just yet another social media .
I guess the Elite SoTG is just for the elite.

Over the course of the last 7(?) years I've frequently commuted in and out of London displaying clearly visible Elite T-shirts, sweatshirts, badges, and stickers - always in the vague hope that some fellow traveller will point and give me an o7 or stop to say hi to a fellow commander.

Still waiting! 😆

Either Elite commanders are much rarer than we imagine, or far more shy ... or perhaps both.

And while I'm here ... thanks Frontier team, loved the Frameshift Lave livestream! It really was a bit warm in that room towards the end so I'm glad it didn't go on any longer, but I enjoyed every minute of it. And just a general thanks too for being so accessible throughout the 'con, and so friendly, and so willing to just throw yourselves into everything that was happening (from panels to playing chess to painting models to coming over to chat with us until the VERY early hours of the morning).

I live in Nottingham , and have seen 1 chap in the Founders edition (LEPer) sweatshirt. We do exist, just a lot of us aren't allowed out by our Mums (me excluded, too old for that)

I don't wear mine - people might get the wrong idea, and start talking to me :)

Greetings Commanders!

Just a heads up regarding Community activity this weekend.
As you know, Lavecon is back (thank goodness!) and we're going to be hosting a fun instalment of our own as part of the event's general scheduled, streamed activities.

We'll be hosting Frameshift Live #12 at around 14:30 BST on Saturday the 16th of July, over on the official Elite Dangerous Twitch Channel.
Unfortunately, due to the nature of having a more limited set up in terms of tech from our side, with travelling as part of the trip, the show will not be streamed live to our YouTube Channel.
We can however look to upload the VOD when we can.

The show will be hosted by Arthur, Bruce, Zac and myself, featuring our wonderful devs, Dav, Tom, Derin, Dom and Peteris.

This show is focused on:
  • Fun, nostalgia trips and lightheartedness, with some Dev vs Commanders Pictionary thrown in for good measure.
  • It's a place to chat in the literal company of our Lavecon Commanders and you, the viewers at home, to bring you into the room with us.
  • There will be no special, unannounced, new content or development news related to Elite Dangerous: Horizons or Odyssey shared as part of this show.
    • This is strictly a fun focused show as oppose to being dressed in our business clothes.

A few little grace notes:
  • We're aiming as ever to share a top quality show for you all, however as mentioned we are 'on the road', so this will have a more "televised feel" as oppose to full bells and whistles we would be able to control with our usual production team in studio.
  • We will be monitoring the chat as best we can so we can involve those of you viewing from home.
  • Again, due to the nature of limitations on the trip, there will be no Twitch Drops as part of this show.

To those of you heading to Lavecon, we're excited to see you there!
To those who will join us for our 14:30 BST slot tomorrow from the comfort of your home...also see you there o7

Have a wonderful weekend ahead, Commanders.

Thanks Sally,

I hope you had good weather. unfortunately I didn't read it in the official Twitch schedule.
It's also a bit difficult to change it when the weather is good.
