Newcomer / Intro Destroyed At Deciat

There must be a list somewhere to post their name.
Not here, for sure.

On the other hand, if you really want to dive into the bountyhunter experience, you might want to check out EDRecon https://edrecon.com/ . Just be aware that the chances of solving these situations are slim. I haven't yet seen anyone mention it, but in addition to the open/group/solo switch, you can also block individual CMDRs (more or less) - but that one cuts both ways, they can block you as well as you can block them.
Any PvPer worth their salt (ok, that's a big assumption when talking about the seal clubbers at Deciat) won't, though. They'd rather get a friend request (so they know where you are and you know where they are) and invite you for a deathmatch.

Being ganked in Deciat is (unofficially) part of a CMDR's career.
You can't call yourself a CMDR if you have not been through it
Sort of, maybe.
I was in Deciat before there were gankers there ;) - the only place to truly be careful in at that time was Shin Dez.
The first time I was attacked at Deciat I was in one of my open-capable combat ships :devilish:

And another way, say you get there before ganker, now anybody instanced with you will NOT instance with ganker. And if somebody else has other gankers blocked his/hers block will protect you too.

Thats why they hate it.
I do see the value, but I also like to mess with them too...so they are actually on my friends list...that way I can see where they are...and react misbehave appropriately...

A week or so ago, I was able to self destruct before they (wing of 3) were able to shoot me down...they were...

Actually, if you play the game normally, that's exactly what happens - the engineer invites are a milestone after certain amount of time and achievement in the game.
But that's not how people play the game. They play the game by googling "the fastest way to unlock engineers" and do that instead, forgetting to play the game while they're doing it.
Similar to moaning about it being a "grind", as they don't bother playing the game normally and collecting materials, progress/rank, and unlocks as they go.

Exactly.
If ganker sit in instation with 10 clear players, and you blocked him.

You will see...empty instance, because you cannot spawn in instance with 10 clear players, because player #11 is on black list.
That's why I NEVER block other people. Yes, even this 5 gankers which I found in 4 years in open.
That's why people hate it, @TiberiusDuval
I concur. I actually had fun with the gankers last night, for a while. Got to dump 100+ tons of biowaste on one of them...before they killed me. Added several to my friends list as the night went on...now I can see them on the gal map...hehe

It's all about chances. If you're player #1 then other 10 will join you and ganker (11s) will pass.
So you never know if you're player 1 or player 11 so why to bother? Just block.

It's mainly out of game tools that tell you were to avoid in Open, or at least be careful.

Inara has its security report, and EDrecon is a useful tool to see if there are any bad eggs in system.

In game, the best way is to monitor your bandwidth when jumping into a system and then pausing at the star to take a good look at who is also in-system and then watching their behaviour. It can be a good game of cat and mouse or if that doesn't interest you just switch to solo or use the block option.

Personally I see it as a challenge to get to Felicity intact in a non-conbat ship and it's certainly possible, just difficult.

The hardest problem is dealing with a CMDR at the port who has long range rails and can just shoot you on approach. I think only a low level cold approach through the canyons might have a chance, unless you have a mate who can distract them.

The worst for me is the lack of info in game - not only to alert you to the high potential of destruction (from memory Deciat is mid-security which is absolute nonsense) but also on how to avoid/outfly those hostile CMDRs.

GL for next time!

Sorry, but no.

Even yesterday someone talked on chat that in some AX CZ is "ganker".

Maybe it was ganker, maybe not, but it definetely was fdl with pvp loadout.
If he would be someone from my blocklist after dropping in CZ I would see literally empty CZ, not 10 randoms fighting with scouts, dusas and hydra. Oh, and this "ganker" even not attacked anyone.

You can block them if you want, but I don't care. Sometimes it can cut off too much fun. I also don't feel, that I have to remove any threat in my gameplay :)
50/50 If you are there before blocked ganker, said ganker will have empty instance. If said person has been blocked by many people, chances are that even if you are there when said ganker is already there your instance most likely will not be empty. So more people blocking gankers, give out better game experience generally.

and anyone else instanced with them, some of whom one might WANT to instance with...

Yea, but usually gankers enjoy each others company, so the chances to block "innocents" are rather slim.
And if that happens you can still chat with the rest of the wing and explain them they are winged with a ganker and if they want to be able to play along with you they should drop him
Chances they'll drop him (i read at least one story here on the forums that went exactly like above)
