HIP 22460 Permit Lock Initiated

is this purely to stop people jumping over to Planet 10A in SRVs? so evil Azimuth can start building their Human/Thargoid ship research again?

It just means 'to throw', really.

OK, but how do you launch SRV from space??? and aim it?

EDIT - I think you made up a RP story there (even though I know you to be a long time ED player from startup) @Disemboweled Ego - lets see video evidence of it!

tldr you land on a planet, and so does your friend. you drive your SRV on top of their ship. they then launch your srv into orbit, and gravitywells take care of the rest. that's the theory anyway

The image of the surface of non-landable planets isn't generated from the terrain, it's just a 2d image, there's no surface, and once you get close enough the wrapping of the texture around the globe goes wonky because it's not meant to be looked at from close up, and there is no surface, so that went exactly how I expected.

This would appear to show that Salvation is a fraud :)! In ED lore it wouldn't be particularly surprising!
Not really. According to Galnet the Proteus wave "core" was being built onboard Bright Sentinel and was only recently completed, to be moved down to the installation on the surface.

yeahbut they're building it inside one of those Thargoid listening posts, so there would be something on the ground already
Issue is, SRVS don't trigger Orbital glide (which is the "cut-scene" before you drop into a planet instance). And Fdev aren't going to change SRV coding to allow them to do that, because at no time are SRVs supposed to be in orbit lmao. Yeeting an SRV into space is 1) suicide 2) an exploit (being generous) 3) potentially game-breaking.

Funny thing there nothing on planet B different to normal.
It not like the guys was showing stuff before we should see it.

It sort of suggests northing will happen when the weapon is fired nothing on the planet I mean.

I guess goids will end up everywhere on multiple planets to salvage stuff from them, thats all.

No it isn't, you can fly down in real space in a spaceship without orbital glide and the planet is there just as if you used orbital glide, it doesn't trigger a "planet instance" they are already there. You can fly from a moon to a planet without using SC or orbital glide, there's nothing there because the planetary surface for non-landables isn't implemented, it's just a 2d bitmpa wrapped around a spherical mesh.

1) I hope FDEV plans to post the actual time the Proteus Wave will be activated so I can arrange to be online.
2) I hope there is some sort of visual in SC or local space to represent the wave (they could recycle the Goid energy surge if they had to)
3) I hope the fix the dang AX fighters so they shoot at whatever comes out of this doorbell ringing event they start up.

My prediction is that the event won't happen for a month, and they just basically scuttled the Defend CG.

You can launch an SRV into space from some planets without any friends, depending on gravity and building up enough speed through bouncing off the surface at the right angle. MalicVR has done it quite a few times.

yeah, it would kill the servers to have a (300ly?) flash of light and maybe EMPing every player ship in that reach. it will definitely happen during update 13, and we'll log in to see the mess left behind
