Community Event / Creation LAVE RADIO - A podcast about Elite Dangerous

Nope.

Writers 003 missing still.

I tried refresh no good. I tried "show all available episodes" and all I get is

"Episode 003" again being 1 hour 21 long so this is the normal Ep 3 but still no Writers. Even though I already have that ep there it is still confusing the two.

I downloaded it manually but of course iTunes doesn't let me put the one I downloaded into that folder and instead puts it under Music <facepalm>.

What I had to do was go to iTunes store, find Lave Radio and download Writers 003 as suggested above.

That worked. :)

Also even MORE interestingly enough mine says "be the first to write a review". hmmmm

Bah! Will just have to wait for Apple to reply then :(

EDIT: Although Fozza reports it is now working for him.

Listener Questions and Listener Memories

Hi Folks,

The crew are getting together in the Great Orange Sidewinder this evening to record Episode 6 of Lave Radio.

We are still looking for a few discussion topics from the community and also if anybody would like to have a stab a recording a listener memory now would be a good time :)

Also if you would like to see us plug anything else from the communty that you think we've missed then let us know.

Cheers

Fozza

ONESIES ONESIES!!!! The importance of a static non-flappy flight suit to ensure that zero G does not mean jacket corners poking out eyes or chasing pirates out of your cargo bay only to have your flares float up and hook on your pistol.

This is a SUPER important part of the ED universe.... this is the only way to fly.. stick your braces where the sun don't shine...

Also where is the Lave Radio station??? So I can visit... in my ONESIE!!!

How about:

Swearing in the Elite Fiction - what is the target demographic for the game and its literature, and should it be toned down for the "younger" readers/players?
- That's based on a discussion on both the Writer's Forum and the Oolite forum.

What do people in the 34th century look like and sound like?
The antipodean and American accents and dialects were formed by the amalgamation of various accents and dialects from the peoples who settled there - how would that work on a galactic scale? Also, interracial breeding can introduce new physical characteristics and make others extinct - for example, ginger hair dying out or the various possibilities for skin tone by interbreeding of black and white people (often a mid-tone but can also be a broken, freckly complexion or sometimes colouring taking after one parent). Could mixed-racial coupling on a galactic scale bring more diversity or would centuries of interbreeding result in less diversity as the gene pools became intertwined?

Hope they're ok.

Oh and don't forget onesies... its important.. you guys don't want to turn up on launch night wearing suits when the entire of the 'serious' elite commanders are dressed for battle in their snug and yet quite manly onesies!!..

Ok I have thought about how to raise this issue in a more ED kind of way.

Given that Zero gravity on ships will have a bearing on the clothing worn by pilots, what measures will be taken/fashions will be advised for that would be pilot to avoid embarassments such as during a video com docking request your top floats up over your face.

Also give the health and safety evaluation and risk assessment, would it be recommended to wear some kind of flawless, easy on complete item of clothing,i don't know possibly a flight suit that unzips front or back to allow it to be worn much like a dry suit... maybe call it a all-in-one suit or perchance... a onesie.. Obviously a nonesie is equally effective is potentially a good argument against video comms...

Is that a better way to question it?

I'm scared to run back through this forum in case my suspicion that this whole "Elite Onesie" thing might be my fault.

If it is, I don't know whether to be proud or ashamed...

Actually, I have another idea

Sport and Leisure in the Elite Universe and in Elite Dangerous
- Allen in his infinite creativity suggested a few games that could be common and popular in the Elite universe. What sort of games are there in 3300? Have chess, football, snooker, darts and so on evolved any, and do they still get the fanatical followings that are common today, or would society have moved on from such things? What coverage do sports and games get in the Elite universe and should they be covered in the course of ED? Could players, for example, enter the Saa-Duhm championships on behalf of one of the factions?

And since psykokow posted while I was typing, in reponse to the content I say that an everyday, workwear onesie already exists. Overalls, for example. Make a onesie out of fire-retardant, military coloured fabric, stick some pockets and patches on it and put some boots on and you have the standard military flight suit. Whether you put bunny ears and a tail on that is entirely up to you, but your callsign would forever be "Bugs". ;)

Just joined the Forum really just to mention my appreciation for the podcast, I tweeted JS the appreciation & my choice of favourite ship and he kindly retweeted my commander avatar for me.

Thanks for getting me into 2Quietsuns, love the Hitch Hikers / Vintage Red Dwarf style of material on the podcast.

Keep up the good work and I hope to post regularly on this forum now :)

Thanks for listening and welcome to the forums!

We love Two Quiet Suns and we're really happy the community has responded so positively to their work. If you like red dward references then you'll really like our next episode!

Looking forward to it already, you mention 2 podcasts worth of material. Are your editing skills up to making into one or are we looking at a Peter Jackson appendix DVD here? ;)

Usually we record for just over two hours. Once I've removed irrelevant chit-chat before, after and during the podcast recording and got rid of mistakes, dead-air etc it usually comes in at under 1.5 hours.

However, last night we recorded over three hours of material and it was all Elite talk so it'll be a real struggle to fit it in to a single podcast without cutting out Elite stuff or making it in to a double feature. Only the editing process will reveal which it will be.

And to think, Fozza was worried that we wouldn't have enough stuff to talk about...

I would not worry about that, I am sure the community can keep you guys going for at least another 12 months, and then you'll have years worth of material to keep you going :D

I will see about recording an Elite memory for you for the next podcast (baffles me why anyone would want to hear about my memories of Elite) Quick question regarding the recording of these memories ... how long should I aim for? minimum and maximum times?

If we do (miraculously) run out of stuff to say, I can just bring up the orange ABO sidewinder and Fozza will talk for hours about how much he's lookig forward to doing community service.

You don't just have to talk about Elite memories. Feel free to mention what you're looking forward to in the new game. Length can be anywhere between 30 seconds and 3 minutes, although we reserve the right to edit down very long ones! ;)
