Or that finally people learn about fuel and plan it bit better?

Yes.

I get that Odyssey and Horizons can't Instance together due to different age restrictions on each version. Horizons 4.0 access would be the only way for both Odyssey owners and Horizons owners to take part in new space-based content as one group. Now if this is the way it has to be due to a technical issue that can't be overcome then we are not on a very good path and it's only going to get worse.

Say In a year or two you release a new DLC, you're not going to be able to merge Horizons and Odyssey 4.0 together like you did with the Base game and Horizons not that long back due to the age restriction and/or tech issues. This would then lead to even more splitting of player base, those on Horizons 3.8, those on 4.0 (2 versions) and then the new DLC.

This might seem the best option for now but it's going to have to be addressed for the future of the Elite. I for one hope the information that was given was not quite right and Ody owners can access EDH 4.0 but you're always going to have that age restriction issue to overcome.

Well according to Sally’s info you won’t anymore! Instead you get to either self destruct your SRV or contact support.

Well, tbfh i have not managed to get my SRV stuck in Odyssey yet.
And i've tried... For example, bumping at full speed in a brain tree was a stuck situation like 99% of the cases. And it required countless maneuvers (like 5-10 minutes) to get it unstuck -if ever- or a restart in base game mode.

Not the case in Odyssey

Just raise Horizons’ then. How many unsupervised 6 year olds might be playing Elite, I wonder?

Also I kind of want to see official confirmation for this. Funnily enough Frontier’s own store lists age ratings for the base game, but not Odyssey; Steam for neither.

Steam is listing Odyssey as PEGI16
and in UK, PEGI ratings are not just informative (like in many other countries), they have legislation behind them.

And i'm not really sure they can UP the rating of a game that was sold in like 4-5 millions copies and got offered on Epic store for free for another 8 millions copies.

Age restriction is ballsheet. Common instances in open space would be enough - there is no difference there between EDH and EDO. They just try to force ppl to buy EDO - and that just shows how lame EDO is. If it wouldn't be - there would be no need to force anybody to buy it.

Do I understand this correctly, as an LEP owner, currently serving time in Odyssey, If I want to go back to farming materials like I did when Horizons was the new hot cake, I just swap back to ED3.8. With the old menus and all that jazz? I don't need to swap back to the Horizons specific version of the game? Because that's technically becoming 3.8 as it's merged with the base game. H4 is just Odyssey without the legs n settlements, right?

Surely having 3 separate versions is going to be a MASSIVE BALL ACHE when you next get around to doing DLC. Needlessly increasing the amount of work needed.
I don't get why you don't do it how other MMO's do it. World of Warcraft, for instance, just greyed out Northrend when they release Wrath of the Lichking if you didn't buy the expac. Everyone could see it, but nah son, buy a ticket before you enter the fun zone. Disable settlements or put a massive 30km exclusion zone around each one so non-Ody players can't gain access.
If Horrizon players can see Odyssey players chilling in the bar while they're sat all billy no mates in their cockpit, well damn I'd upgrade pretty damn quick.

I got mine stuck at a Conda crash site on some debris trying to scoop a bit of whatever the fudge. Took about an hour of wiggling to get out.
