Nobody cried about it, fdev simply changed their minds about making them available for purchase so soon after their introduction.
No the users were very public about it. they defended sirius got crushed badly and their bribe was then offered to more people later as they got crushed so badly in the CG...
Fdev then publicly relented on live stream stating that they would agree not to release it because players who got the prize complained...
They did not randomly decide to reverse the narrative team who chose to rerelease the modules.. they did so because users compained then agreed...
Arthur as the head of the CM team stated on live stream they would flip to keep the prize restricted...
The narrative team has stated before on live stream they know people love new module release via CG but were surprised when some they set up lost...
Its not a mistake that they are again instantly offering these heatsinks again after they are a prize in the CG the narrative team realy does want these available in game... lol

Sirius got the buts kicked and were still crying from that... then fdev wanted to gave their toys away after a trade CG...

Its not good new stuff, its an exdploit using 2 bugs, which Fdev are ignoring for some bizzare reason.
It's often question in ED - is it bug or feature? I'm not sure if it's bug, to keep combat bonds and premium ammo upon death.
It looks to me - at one point FDev decided to make AX combat little bit easier, to bring it closer to average players. With that in mind, they gave better weapons, engineered
guardian shard cannons, plasma chargers, gausses - and shards and plasmas are much better than non-engineered versions. They also introduced this mechanics to not
lose combat bonds when you die, but also to not lose premium ammo.
Without this advantages, many players would try AX combat and give up because it's too risky, too difficult.
It's just my theory, I can't prove it, but also it's not possible to prove otherwise.

And if we speak about premium ammo - it's not very big advantage. I can kill cyclops very easy with or without premium ammo, but can't kill hydra (in solo) with or without special ammunition.

It's still a very big advantage.
It's like having 5.2 Gauss cannons instead of 4 - that is if you use prem ammo

The fact that you can solo Hydras with 4 or 5 guns, doesnt make it a less of an advantage.
However, when you'll be able to, you'll appreciate the advantage

Here is what happend for those that dont remember.
Fdev released odyssey. Players started doing on foot CZs.
A small minority started complaining about loosing bonds when they died in on foot CZs.
Fdev decided to make it so you dont loose on foot bonds on ""critical injury"" (death). pritty sure some patch notes said as much.
What accidentally happend was all combat bonds were made to not be lost on death.
Fdev havent fixed that bug.

Myself I think you should loose them for on foot death too.
Mes ces la vie. or death in this case :)

You don't lose anything when dying in on-foot combat zones, afaik it's always been that way. Why combat bonds get special handling outside of ground CZs is a mystery.

So when you died in a ground CZ you would lose combat bonds and nothing else (despite the game not going through the regular death loop), then they "fixed" it and now when you die outside of a ground CZ you lose everything except combat bonds?

I'm 100% sure losing combat bonds during AX combat has never been a thing in Odyssey (even when the payouts weren't correct in the first few weeks), which is why I find it hard to believe it was a modification made after release.

You may be right.
I dont know, as I or anyone I know didnt do thargoid bonds and die in odyssey, before they altered the on foot bonds system.

I agree with cmdr BL1P - to buy premium ammo for credits, this is very good idea.
I don't agree with idea to lose combat bonds upon death. As it is now, we have very good AX CZ in open, very lively, many cmdrs cooperate, different ships and loadouts,
helping each other, exchange informations in system chat etc. It's fun, it's good gameplay. Only instancing was problem, not so much in morning hours (game time)
but in the evening hours.
If we lose combat bonds upon death, we would lose this nice atmosphere, because it's too dangerous and 80% of this players would play in solo or PG. It's very easy to
die in shieldless ship with <50% of hull, and gankers can appear in any momment.
I can say for myself - if I lose my combat bonds 3 - 4 times, I would switch to solo, to kill cyclops in NHSS anywhere. But it would be pity to lose this AX CZ in open.

Never saw a single ganker during the entire of the CG last week.
Surviving with 50% hull is easy, even in a small ship. Just make sure you have your escape route system selected after you jump into the instance then high wake out at the 1st sign of trouble.
Your AX ship should have tonnes of HRP, which is also a great defence against gankers...if you've loaded out your ship with fuel scoops and docking computers then more fool you, self inflicted ;)

I can say for myself - if I lose my combat bonds 3 - 4 times, I would...
...figure out what I'm doing wrong and learn how to avoid being ganked.

Cmdrs should lose combat bonds if they die imo...dumbing down an already safe and dumbed down death experience is just boring.

So did any one check the 3 mega ships for tech brokers yet.. Fdev very rarely delete any thing they just disable it and leave the code on server for later activation..
Its monday this is the final "normal" day for a human to check status of CG gifts and rewards then activate it...
Before pinging Flossy be nice to know If they are in EDO only and you need to walk to see them ... or 4.0 only....

Doesnt Sirius own 7 Megaships ?

Doesnt Sirius own 7 Megaships ?
These were the original ones mentioned in Galnet (when the heatsinks were first meant to be released):
“All ships in the area are invited to make use of the Song of Mecchi in the Coalsack Sector Vu-O B6-6 system, the Kandula's Truth in the Siniang system, and the Li Chyou Winds in the Onoros system.”

“As a further gesture of our dedication to protecting the Alliance, these megaships will offer a unique pre-engineered heat sink module. We trust that this will prove especially useful to those brave pilots who face the Thargoids in combat.”

I checked Song of Mecchi, and there's no Tech Broker. Probably we´ll have Galnet News when heatsinks will be available.
Ta your an EDO player right so OK not activated yet...
The server guys are normaly Quicker than galnet is This avoid spoilers and allows players to find things...
So even if activated, it could still be days before the narrative team push a galnet post out to confirm...
