I don't believe that is the case, I am going to go into the black for a very very long time explore and look for plant life and etc. the more you have room the less tripsExperience tells me that the backpack mod is only really useful early game for gathering mats. Once you have gathered the mats, the slot is wasted. It might be worth getting a Maverick suit with a backpack for gathering and have a second that you mod with the stuff that you really want on it later in the game.

I said; More space = LESS TRIPS.
If out in the black doing exobiology you will be in an Artemis suit. No need for a backpack at all is there? Especially as you will be close to your SRV or ship.
Steve
refer to my last post please. As been advised, for exploration you need an Artemis.
You dont really need any mods since you'll have your ship or srv near you all the time, but having Nightvision would help
Then, IMO, next useful mods would be: Improved Jump, Sprint, Increased battery capacity
A G3 Artemis suit would do if nothing else could be bought. I suspect the OP is not going to engineer or spend much time modding before heading out. If a full range of mods is required, Colonia might be the place to so it (taking as many mats as possible from the bubble). As been advised, for exploration you need an Artemis.

I am confused, please clarify the reason for the trips and the need for the backpack.I said; More space = LESS TRIPS.
My anaconda is engineered already mabye 95% maximum to remove weight increase jump distance and etc. Im kinda just officially starting on upgrading my suits. I want to have everything 100% with the best mods on them that I can. 1 suit for exploration (maybe a second for carry space), 1 suit for combatA G3 Artemis suit would do if nothing else could be bought. Less trips = less time which = doing what you do quicker. if you have 15 space and you need 200 "things" and you do 14 trips you'll get whatever it is. but if you have 30 carry space it becomes 7 trips which is less time. we dont live forever, and i have plans and im not a casual.I am confused, please clarify the reason for the trips and the need for the backpack.
Steve
As mentioned, for exploration you need an Artemis suit, and just incase you need to cut stuff, a maverick for the cutting tool. You are not going to need a Dominator suit ut in the black. My anaconda is engineered already mabye 95% maximum to remove weight increase jump distance and etc. Im kinda just officially starting on upgrading my suits. Steve.
Does not matter. Dock your ship close, and take an APEX.can a large ship fit in there?
I want both G3There is a G3 maverick at Swift Station, Contiku.
There is a G2 Maverick with reduced tool battery capacity at Romer Orbital, Bard.
Not been noting basic Dominator suits.
