What's the Brand New Feature for ED in 2024?

Mhm, I doubt race tracks are really needed. Checkpoints, yes. Checkpoints and spraypaint.

Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Once again getting frustrated with settlement missions. First mission, "friendly" ships dropped troops. SRV immediately came under fire and exploded before I could figure out which way to turn. Mission failed. Second mission, hung around in the ship, waiting for people to shoot me and missiled...

    Increase "Friendly Kill" damage requirement

...me from picking up resupplies in the system, sometimes even in nearby cluster systems to get back to the war. Why the hell is this even a thing? Even in regular real world wars friendly fire is a common thing - can we possibly set the thresholds for a "friendly kill" higher to avoid this?

    Need help with PP2

PP ships attack me every time I try to land on my fleet carrier. They don't become wanted, so I can't shoot back. If I do, my own FC blows me up in seconds. They're not a problem while I'm mining in my very strong Cutter, but I'd have no chance in a Type 6 that I want to use to make some videos...

    SCO for Apex Taxis?

I see I'm not the only one to realise the potential for SCO drives to enhance the Apex customer experience. The ability to take Apex taxi missions could be interesting, if decent ways to distinguish them from other passenger missions could be implemented, aside from having to use a company ship...

...now where to go. Rockets (and flak, and fletchettes, and mines) are horribly inaccurate, invoking Maxim 5: Close air support and friendly fire should be easier to tell apart. I don't believe the settlement owners want to blow up half their own infantry, emplacements and buildings in the...

What's the Brand New Feature for ED in 2024?

I think you'd be surprised at how popular this sort of thing is currently and could become. However, I agree that a specific racing update would seem a bit odd, which is why I think it would be better to incorporate racing friendly aspects to a base-building upgrade, just being able to lay down...

It's odd because in ground CZs you can kill every one of your teammates with no penalties. They don't even turn hostile. At least that was my experience when doing bombing runs.

Make the vicinity of space docks a safe haven

This is another consequence of making the game easier though. Used to be you didn't get kill credit unless you were actively firing on something when it died, then people complained that NPCs were stealing their kills. So we got the dumb 10s rule where you get blamed for murder if you hit...

Then why lock ships behind the microtransactions at all? I definitely hear what you're saying, and I think a lot of it makes sense, I just don't see the point of having some of these MTX when selling the game normally with standard DLC expansions could be more than profitable for ED. And if they...

    Open-Only in PP2.0?

I agree with all of that - it's part of what I mean by "Open-only is irrelevant" (which is not "Open is irrelevant") Put another way: because downside risk is essentially zero, shooting someone often doesn't actually slow them down significantly, so from a merit-earning perspective it's not...

Indeed. Long range would be bit pointless on these. Spread makes them miss anything that is not T9-T10 if more than 1km. Outfitting - Ship Presets
