Perhaps a 4th mode, "PP2" should appear on our loading screens, then the players interested in it can enjoy meeting with like-minded individuals in a mode without blocklists. It makes much more sense than a continuing "Hotel California" type debate, surely?

It could perhaps be merged into Hotel California, but probably the dream is being kept alive by FD saying "not at launch" regarding Open Only for PP. Some people take this as hope that FD might change things, as opposed to it simply being regular FD speak of "not happening, but we don't want to...

Anyways thanks to @StellarKnight observation. Pvp is no longer "hotel california" territory. Else PP and bgs also be categorised as the same. Because.. God I'm gonner run with this, bgs and PP ARE both pvp!!

FWIW, they did ask us players to discuss the pro and cons of open only PP.. Don't think that discussion ought to be diluted by the general whining and forum PvP in the Hotel California thread..

Any transaction / mission affects the BGS, be it intentional or just as a side-effect... So what you really want is Hotel California?

Defo "open letter" header invokes cynicism from the regulars. With good reason tbh. But in Ops case l do think his squadron does deserve some form of recognition for its achievements. But that's just a humble lifetime member of the hotel california club (pvper)s opinion

Perhaps Frontier will introduce a 4th Mode, one in which all PP pledged players are inserted, no block possible. That way PP players will only ever engage with other like-minded individuals.

I think that only players in Open should be allowed to have <whatever> as solo or closed groups are just like cheating. Ditto people playing in different time zones to me, or even just at different times. [...heads for the door humming 'Hotel California', smirking.....]

Yup, just a new coat of paint on good ol' Hotel California Frontier was warned from the very start that Peer to Peer was the wrong choice for a game that includes direct PvP. They didn't want to pay out for a proper server/client config, saying that it saved them charging us a monthly...

Funnily enough FD has managed to implement a cooperative PvE mode inside the concourse, if they'd done the same for the entire game then we'd hear a lot less of Hotel California playing.. :)

This has been discussed at length in the Hotel California thread(s)... PP was developed as a PvP feature. The problem with that is that it was incentivized with modules which appeal to PvE players. If they wanted to go for the proverbial 'Open Only, PvP' thing they have to withdraw any...

This may be a case, but same could happen for any other PvE-relevant module... where some players may get some kind of opportunistic advantage over others.
