For all you bounty hunters out there, and those interested in player-generated events, there is a thread elsewhere over a player-posted bounty which is currently over 1,000,000Cr. Payment to the first player to provide proof of completion in the form of a video, and the video will be posted for all of us to enjoy. We have even had the target pop in to say hi. Hopefully, we get some interesting stories out of this, from both sides of the "operation."

[Full disclosure: I am the CMDR who added 1mil Cr to the original bounty.]

Nope he doesn't have a 1 million credit bounty on his head, the butthurt player and his whiteknight are just offering to pay that to see him dead, though they are both breaking the games code of conduct by doing this, I doubt they will get in trouble cause I won't be dobbing them in :)

If only we all could inspire such a response from everyone we kill.

I believe it would only be a violation of the forums codes of conduct. However, they haven't named the commander on this forum, I imagine they'll be just fine. Also, this is exactly the sort of thing I've been hoping to see :)

Like, one hundred tonnes of gold or platinum? Collecting that will be frigging choirs :) And you need to time it perfectly or it will expire on you while floating in space. You know most precious metals evaporate in vacuum in about 2 min, right?

I prefer the term "Financier".

But seriously, I have no problem with player killing. I have done stints as both hunter and hunted in EVE and here in ED. The small bounty offers I have seen just seemed pointless. I wouldn't get out of bed for one of them, much less try to track down a CMDR. I am just hoping we get some interesting stories and video of the attempts. I don't want the bounty to turn into griefing for the target.

Yeah, payment will be arranged via transfer of high-value cargo. My preference will be something like Palladium or Imperial Slaves. Too bad we can't eject from our ships and allow others to claim them. Would be much simpler. In that case, I would just give them a baseline Type 6.

Seems like exactly the sort of thing that should be going on in this game to me. Though it should be done via ingame bounty boards etc. so I hope these features will be added down the line.

Where and how that applies is beyond me so doing it via reddit probably means its not against the CoC, and it does say in game... like anyone can communicate well enough in game to do much of that lol.
