1.2 Bounty Hunter happy times

I must say, 1.2 is a huge step in the right direction for combat cash earners.

Resource extraction points are a lot more fun, lots going on and the police are flying like aces.
In 2 hours, I've probably enjoyed the game hands down more than all the other combined game time put together.

Not once did a random police ship fly into my attacks, police ships now work great.
I felt like I was actually contributing to help keep the system safe from pirates.
Wanted Federal drop ships, Clippers etc, ships I hardly ever see and more so before, if I did see a Clipper i boosted away as fast as I could.

Now I can help chip away the enemies, collect some nice rewards, $50-$60K and also when I handed in, I cashed in 5 different faction bounties for $700K profit.

Now if I could only find a gun runner willing to rearm my ship, I could stay here all day.

Still no Global chat but hey now that bounty hunting is actually a profession, I will stay happy in my Viper.

Good job

Agreed, though the number of security wings could do with toning down a little. Last night I was in a RES and there was about 5x 3 ship security force wings. Suffice to say anything Wanted didn't last long!

Yes, combat is way more fun and system security don't act foolishly anymore. Also they forgive more dangerous close friendly fire than they used to. Thumbs up!

Solo mode completely sucks now. I have spent the last week trying to find good bounty hunting grounds and when I finally find a good spot, grind for a few days, buy and kit out a viper now I get shredded in RES and anarchy NB's. Before I was able to fly in to NB's spend a good hour and leave to reload and turn in bounties for 500k. Now with wings it seems every other npc I target and open fire on has several friends that want to rip into my ship and send me packing. I spend more time running away from fights then I do fighting and making money. It was slow enough before to make money in solo mode as a bounty hunter at the anarchy system NB's, now its just a joke trying to take on several ships at the same time. And the RES's aren't any better. Way, way, way too many cops. I can barely make it to the pirates before they are killed, let alone being able to use my KWS for extra bounty money. There is absolutely no time to get it off before 90% of the pirates are dead, especially if said pirates are syd's or cobras. And if I am lucky I wont accidently shoot a cop which I reiterate that there are way too many now, its almost impossible not to hit one as there are usually 6 - 10 shooting the same target that I am. I understand the wings content and I think that its great for the public severs but not on the solo servers...the game ultimately sucks now on solo mode. I think that Frontier over thought the logistics way too much and forgot about the fun factor for their fans. Just my two cents!!!!

Its more dangerous now but that's more fun.

Check the target dispaly if your targets in a wing you can see that, read before you shoot. Look at the whole wing if its escorts and a big target hit the escorts first then the big one. Transfer power to engines and throttle up when closing on a possible target so you get there before the police ships. If you want to avoid friendly fire against police ships either check your targets or go to an anarchy system.

Sorry, but you miss the point here - it was mind numbingly boring before. At least now it is a challenge. Move to a regulated space nav beacon if current anarchies are too tough. I played yesterday and it seemed fine. Way more fun than before.

Pay attention to the target info window before you open fire on an NPC. It will tell you if your target is part of a wing or not. The game is still spawning solo targets so solo mode is still viable.

But if you see they're in a wing of 4, don't try and solo them. A wing of 2 small ships is a good challenge for a solo player though ;)

I do agree with the amount of cops and NPC BH though. I was trying to kill pirates last night at a NB and every time I came across a pirate or two I had to hurry otherwise the cops and BHs would have annihilated them before I managed to get a shot in and claim the kill or bounty.

hmm reading ths i cant await to get back to human space sell my exploration data and get the guns warmed up ....

is it only resource points or do we have more high wanted enemys flying trough the systems now waiting for an interdiction?
how about nav beacons?

So I just finished a 4 hour run on the game. I failed to mention earlier that I am running with an A class viper twin F2 multi and twin E1 beam all gimbaled. I ran around to a few more anarchy systems to RES and NB's and all to no avail. Either I shot at the wrong faction and had 10 ships gunnin for me or I accidentally shot a cop and bam "wanted". So I looked into my rep and found that I was liked by some of the feds factions. So I went to a fed owned system and went straight to the NB to see if I ran into the same problem.

Upon arriving I found wanted pirates form all of the factions (including some of the fed factions in the system) I thought screw it if they are going to gun me down for shooting wanted criminals then I will quit the game and be done. Quite the opposite happened. Soon most of the wanted fed's were gone and the pirate faction in the system started showing up in droves. I had a complete range of ships from syd's to condas. They say get while the getting is good so I stuck around for a couple of hours, long enough to run out of fuel on a 2T tank, and well past running out of juice on my multi-cannons, just ended up using my beam lasers for the last hour I was there. There were plenty of cops to help me and they were all green and thankfully when I accidentally shot them a couple of times during that run they did not retaliate against me.

So I think I may have learned that if you want to fight at NB's (I haven't tried the RES in a fed system yet but I will assume that it will be the same) that it really helps to be friendly with the controlling faction. The learning curve on this game is terrible I have spent almost as much time researching on how, where, when and why as I have actually playing the game. All in all I ended up pulling around 700k in two hours with 640k of it in system bounties, not the most impressive numbers I know, but its better than being shot at consistently and paying the piper every other hour.

I wish that FD wouldn't have put so much damn thought into the logistics of this game IE if you shoot this pirate then your faction will drop over here and now you cant even go to the system anymore. If you don't pay your fine for accidently shooting a cop then you will have a dormant bounty on your head and every time you get scanned you get shot at. You shoot at a pirate that is wanted in the system that you are in and he belongs to the controlling faction of the system, shame on you for being a good bounty hunter and killing the wanted pirates in the system you are bounty hunting in, guess I'm going to have to kill you now!!! Where is the fun in that, When I play a game I want to escape from having to think so much...stop making games so intricate and detailed to make them actually feel like work. I don't want to have to watch 50 YouTube vids to understand the concepts of your game play. Its a space sim for hells sake. Let me log into the servers, load into my space ship and fly around and kill bad guys aimlessly.

Now I say all of this with the solo game in mind. I understand that there must be repercussions for player harassment and space murder gankers, but you have 2 servers, implement all that jargon for PVP and leave the NPC game play alone. I want to be able to enjoy myself, not have to run for my life every other time I fire my guns and study forums and watch video footage to play your game. It's neat to have a game that is life like but there is a fine line between realism and fun that should be under the microscope, not weather or not I killed too many of the wrong law breakers!!!! Come On FD cut your players a break and give us something fun to play!!!!!
