1.2 missing "/g" command?
First off, 1.2 is awesome. The new social interaction mechanics are phenominal and the UX is great. Thank you Frontier.
With that said I feel like we are desperately missing a /g command to chat with users within the same group as you. Yes, I understand being in multiple groups can make it a challenge for this to work. However I have an idea!
UI design is very important to both Frotnier and myself, and my suggestion for adding this and retaining the ability to have multiple groups is actually pretty simple.
First, allow groups to be named.
Second, add the ability for groups to pick a "ticker" or acronym to identify themselves by.
Fourth, add some functionality to the new settings section of the Comms panel:
"GROUP CHANNELS" section added below voice channels. All groups you are a member of get listed here. There are two options for each group listed, "ON/OFF' as is present for other settings and "SEND TO" which makes /g send to that group by default.
You could also make the game recognize the tickers of any groups you are in so if you were in a group called "Elite Dangerous" with the ticker "ED" then using the ticker as a command such as "/ed" would send chat to that group.
All group chat would be prefixed by the ticker chosen for the group.
Thoughts? This functionality could enhance the new social mechanics even further. I hope to see something like this added, especially because this kind of change would bring in a "Guild"/"Corporation"/"Clan" capability to the game with an inbuilt ability to be part of multiple player groups that's already there.

Ugh, I meant to put this in Dangerous Suggestions. Woops.
