1.2 Questions

Hi there!

2 Quick questions.

1) Is it normal that when I'm playing in Wings I have to urn on my Wing beacon every time I jump or drop out of super cruise. Is that normal?

2) The Wing Jump feature. How do I make sure my Wing can jump with me? I set a target 12ly away, and it said "Wing Range" in the nav screen, so I figured it would workfor my friend. So I started the jump, he was in blue square range behind me, and then I jumped and he didn't. He told me that he got a message saying it was cancelled because he didn't have enough fuel, even though he had a full fuel tank. Does he just need a bigger tank, and the system doesn't tell me.

3) I was unaware that Wings dropping into a new system will drop into the same place as you. I was approaching a station when he jumped in to the system, and appeared right behind me. Awesome job!

1. You only need to use it if you are not in a public point, like a RES or Nav beacon. If you drop into a USS or just drop randomly, then you should use it.

2. This happened most likely because your friends' ship did not have the same jump range capacity as you. Regardless of fuel tank, depends on ship, weight and other things, it can reduce your jump range.

3. Ok cool

Wings with less jump range are meant to be able to get further using wing lock. It's a fuel issue, and the game should account for that. It should alter you before the jump rather than tell you after the jumps been made, surely.

Also, something that's annoying me.

When I have nav lock active, and my wing does... when I jump, he jumps, and mine then cuts out. He shoots off, then I have to charge mine again. In addition, when I am approaching the same station as him in super cruise. When I drop out, he drops out at the same time, but it puts me out at 10km away, and it puts him at 20km away. So he has to fly for ages. Why doesn't it just drop him out at 10km as well? It it just because he's further behind me in super cruise? Makes sense in real terms, but for a game it's a lousy feature.
