1.3 AI ...HOLY COW! Better stop snoozing

So Im in my ASP for the last month now. Been trading with the DISO Ma Corn GC reward to save up for a Python or Type 9.


I usually evade every interdiciton attempt for time savings. But last night I had a ship interdict me right near my destination. I got a bit irritated at this so I submit.... I'LL SHOW HIM...or so I thought.

Mind you I haven't done combat in my ASP since 1.2 went live.


I drop out of SC and see its a Federal Dropship..... bah....no problem. Deadly rating....I can take him....

First volley from the Drop ship takes my shields out and 30% of my hull (less than 2 seconds)..... WHOA.... what the..... second volley my screen starts to dim and my vision fades, computer is announcing "Critical Failure...Eject...."

Wow... did they ever tweak the AI.... I didn't even have time to deploy my weapons..... What the heck did this dropship have??? I used to take on Deadly Pythons and Annies with no problem.....
 
LOL It is Sarah's devious plan to overtake the galaxy via her minions :eek:

But to answer you original question, there has been significant improvements to the AI since 1.3. Sarah has done an amazing job but she eludes to a phase #2 for even more AI combat awesomeness.

Wow...I would say the AI in 1.3 ranks up there with some of the best AI I have seen. Im actually scarred to fight now..lol

I will just have to stay on my toes more... good thing as AI in 1.2 was a bit silly.

So I see on some YouTube channels folks targeting sub-systems without looking at panel 1. Is this a mappable key in the Controls menu?

Yes it sure is, you have the option for Next and Previous. And Previous can get you to the powerplant system faster.
