1.3 Smuggling Smugglers Black Market Guide, Help and Tips

Hello fellow independent traders.

Let's put a guide together for smuggling in 1.3. Not Piracy.. smuggling.

"The criminal offense of intentionally and secretively bringing an item into a country without declaring it to customs officials and paying the associated duties or taxes, or of bringing a prohibited item into a country."

Happy to update the opening posts with confirmed and evidenced information.

If you have some information please use the following format.

  • Who
  • Where
  • When
  • What
  • How
  • Why
  • Evidence

Lets take the approach that everything pre 1.3 is no longer true. If you disagree with someone bring hard evidence if possible. All ideas are good ideas until proved wrong. If something annoy's you, ignore it (even use the ignore function), step away from the keyboard and put the kettle on.

Please share routes and secrets. Contacts are important as are allies. Discussion is free form and suggestions always welcome. If you're a role player here's a good chance to stay in character. If you'd rather not, that's fine

No exploits only adventures please.

By this time next year will be millionaires!

Tips

Docking using a Docking Computer for large ships.
Warning.
When this goes wrong. It goes very wrong.

Docking using Flight Assist off

... with FA OFF the ship slows down a lot quicker, the stopping distance is reduced a great deal. Means you can run high speed a lot longer.

You are not writing a guide, you are asking others to do the work. Why would people share their route secrets with you? This will result in direct competition for profits.

I knew there would be an immediate and pointless response that would be completelynon constructive. Bye Puca. Have fun. Clicking ignore works a treat. I'll put the kettle on.

He's asking for a community effort between Smugglers to put something good together for everyone. This isn't real life, stop treating it as such. There are no secrets and competition for profits, there are plenty of systems and routes to go round. This is a good idea, not a bad idea and isn't the first time someone has tried to put something together for people. Don't be selfish, more importantly don't be so rude about it. New players especially could benefit from an idea like this and old players might learn something new.

Entitlement is strong with this one. It's a dangerous galaxy out there, cupcake.

Now you aren't even making sense. Who's feeling entitled? Asking for a community effort to put together a guide that would benefit said community is not entitlement.

Thank you.

I don't think I was being rude. Refusal to help isn't rudeness.

You where being rude +Ben is the godfather ( of smuggling ) and generally well behaved ( and thus liked ) ...
Ben: don't you have footage from when it goes wrong .... ;-)

Fines - even if you have a legacy fine in the system - you pay it upon your death.

May be well known, but just wanted to mention it ( 4M credits for death in a hauler without shields :D )

It would be a good idea to have some in-game tracker on the non-existent ship computer, about all the places you have fines, to be a bit more careful if there.

I am beginning my life as a smuggler this week, and I will be sure to update this thread with info as I learn.

Thanks Ben for starting it!
