1.4 update and galaxy map improved

After reading everyone's SC jitter issues I was hesitant to get back in game until FD worked it out. I got back in last night and spent about 5 hours with the Rift on. Luckily it doesn't seem to have affected my set up.

I did notice major improvements in the galaxy map! I'd gotten used to closing one eye and "getting by" as best I could. 1.4 seems to have fixed the mouse issue and I can now move around the galaxy map just as easily as a monitor set up. Great job FD on fixing that for us!

Glad it's all working well ValeoRex ,I in the meantime can select the main body just but cannot figure out how to navigate to select the space station I wish to land at. No problem I can select the station once I get there. Does anyone have a way of doing said problem fly safe

Rob

I mapped the hat switch on my stick to move around in the System Map. Then use the trigger to select the station. Hope that helps you.

Sorry, just caught when I reread your reply that you can't select the system mapfrom the galaxy map. Try finding your star, and move your mouse to where the pop-up should be (it usually disappears as soon as you move your mouse), then slightly move your stick again and it will pop back up and you can select the system map.

Indeed the Galaxy Map and navigating around the Menu's inside Space Stations is greatly improved with 1.4, it's a real shame though that I get the SC frame rate drop so it kills the game for me until the can fix it. I had a bit of fun on CQC however and will certainly play that a bit more over the weekend :)

I've been exploring and am heading toward Sag A. That might be why I haven't had issues. I read that a lot of the problems happen when other ships are around. Hopefully they'll have it all worked out by the time I get back. Until then, maybe we should just all become explorers :)'

Erm, as per the FD notice, you want to stop exploring for a bit if you plan to actually sell your system data later on.

I've just had a couple of hours in the Rift and yes, I agree, the game feels a lot lot better. There are some very noticeable improvements such as sound and the galaxy map, but, there is also a general feeling of a more stable game and a(n even) more engaging experience. Thoroughly enjoyed myself.
