I have to say the pro feels really really nice.......also Ziljan you seem pretty knowledgable on Saitek...is the screen (on the throttle) used to good effect in ED?.what can I actually do with it?
any response appreciated my good sirs
You shouldn't have to press hard for an input to register. If this problem persists, I would suggest you return the joystick if you can. Some of them are just duds. After using mine for about 600 hours it began having connection problems, and that's when having the software open at all times became necessary. Before this, I only needed to have the software open to make sure that the inputs stayed centered and didn't drift during play, but it wasn't necessary. Now I can't play the game unless the software is running, and like I said it crashes about 1-2 times per hour.
Honestly, if I could go back in time, I would probably get a CH product instead. They have a much record for reliability and accuracy. But my 5 month old Saitek still works well enough that spending another 300+ dollars a hotas + pedal setup seems a bit excessive, so I am going to keep using the x52 pro until it finally breaks on me... which I am almost certain it will do before 2.1 goes live in 2016. It's not all bad though. There are several functions on it that the CH lineup doesn't cover (and vis versa), and I have really gotten used to the ease with which I can target subsystems.
As for the throttle MFD, I only use it to tell local time while in game, and I dial down the brightness so it doesn't blind or distract me in combat. The buttons on it might be mappable, but I haven't tested it because I like to keep my hands on the hotas itself as much as possible.
