1.5 years to get Anaconda, 1 day to lose it.

So it took me 1.5 years to get my Anaconda, and i lost it in 1 day. had 10 creds less then i need for insurance because i forgot i had a loan still from previous ship blowing up. So now in a fracking sidewinder, and to boot it started me 300LY from my back up ship in a station with no shipyard.
The insurance needs to be lowered. Right now it is to g much for those who do not play 12 hours a day doing Mass missions. I take it there is no way i get get my Anaconda back? I need to grind another year?
I am done. This game is great, and fun. But the grinding none stop to get a ship, and lose it, just to start over is just . Yeah i made a mistake, but it is that a small mistake costs you something that took a year and a half of playing to get. This is not fun.
Rant over. I QUIT!!

I realise this is utterly unhelpful now, but you can deselect modules at the insurance screen to reduce your rebuy. It's also possible to quit out without picking an option and play CQC to earn the credits you need if you're only a little short.

Some people are probably going to haul me over the coals for suggesting this rather than just saying "don't fly what you can't rebuy" (which is good advice) and leaving it at that, but you could always try your luck with begging support to give you a second chance to deselect a module.

No, that's really good advice. I've never been in the OP's position so I never think of deselecting modules.

wish i knew i could log out without picking an option to CQC. to late now. Ship is gone, and so am i probably. Insurance is . needed 6.6mil for rebuy, had 6.4mil. after selling off all weapons was just a hair short, but game does not care. Over a year of grinding gone, time wasted i will never get back. Maybe i will have to just sit on a planet shooting skimmers, and abusing the game mechanics for a week like the rest to get money. But i tried to play honest, and oh look i am now .

This is the 4th post I've seen today about people losing the conda/Cutters/vette.

Honestly, how can you guys loose such highly Sheilded ships.

I've lost around 73 ships so, if you don't mind, I know a little something about dying.

It vary rarely happens by accident. It is pritty much always related to staying around for too long. When you should have highwaked when those Sheilds are going down.

The ONLY ships I ever lost, that wasn't an accident, were unshielded T9s.

Im not being helpful I know. I ran out of money for my anacondas rebuys so I flew a smaller ship until I could afford it.

And yep I'm gonna say it. If you spent a year grinding to get the conda....surely.... Wouldn't you say you have been enjoying the game for that year?

That should absolutely be a 3 option in the re-buy screen. It would be cool to have an official option to work for the re-buy (OK, it might take ages in CQC to earn enough for an anaconda re-buy, but being able to would be great).

FD could add so many interesting things to the re-buy screen making it more interesting and immersive and simply adding more gameplay.

An other cool option would be getting a job as a pilot on a similar class ship than the one lost, but as a hired pilot having to work for a fixed cr/h income hauling stuff from unimportant space port to the next systems unimportant spaceport. Somebody has to haul all the food and basic stuff to those frontier systems and outposts.

Or maybe as a system security pilot on patrol around a spaceport in a SLF. Now that would be a punishment for death - 4 h flying in a circle around a space-station scanning NPCs (obviously not in Open Mode).

It's your fault for flying without money for rebuy. Not playing as often as others is not a valid excuse to flying without that money, because playing less means that you have proportionally less opportunity to die at any given minute. If you were so close to having enough, you could've easily just held off buying the Anaconda for a few minutes to earn that money. (on another note, did you try deselecting the option to buy back some of the optional modules?). Don't blame the game when you have no one to blame but yourself for a mistake that could easily be prevented.

Rather than grinding non stop to get a ship, why not just play the game for fun in a ship that you like, gradually earning money as time goes on? Or, if you want money fast for another Anaconda, there's plenty of ways to get that money in a very short time, just search up fast money making for elite dangerous on youtube. You could be back in an Anaconda in less than a day total game time

Look, you need to take some personal responsibility here. With such a small balance you shouldn't have even been flying an Anaconda in the first place, and if you've been flying for 1.5 years you should have been aware of how insurance works.

I'll make it simple for you: man up and quit whining and you're going to see an outpouring of support and help; continue whining and the dogpiling will soon commence.

Maybe this is how multicrew will work?

Cmdrs without enough for rebuy have to work the guns on other players ship to earn it back. I've seen some rich npc pilots already....

I was on way to base. Got interdicted, lost windscreen so had issues docking, and the auto docking computer took that moment to smash me into the station while my life support wore down, and poof i was dead. Why i was interdicted with 0 cargo is utter , but hey life sucks, then you go play another game.

If you don't have re-buy, why did you risk 18 months of gameplay? Don't buy. There's no need for an Anaconda. And what you COULD have done is if you were looking to restart from scratch, to splurge out on the Anaconda then go running dangerous Anarchy missions or race to Sag A or see if you can stunt the Anaconda on a 10G world and no shields on 1% hull and survive. And if you do, take a selfie.

THEN restart.

You lost nothing if you were going to restart anyway.

And if you weren't looking to restart, why did you spend all bar 10cr of 18 months of play on an Anaconda? Python works just as well (near enough, and it parks in more places) and you could afford the rebuy on that and fully upgrade it.

It appears to be 100% self inflicted angst.

Done whining. Now quiting. Yeah i played over a year and a half. But i play a few hours a week here and there. Just got back into game after a few month's off, and i screwed up. I admit it, i made a stupid mistake. Personally i do not think the insurance cost should be so much in Solo.
Taking a few days off to decide now if i will start another year of grinding, or just delete game and move on. I just wish i did not just spend $20 bucks with my birthday discount on skins, and laser colours. Happy Birthday.

You let the docking computer take over landing your ship while on life support?

That sounds like a prestigious Darwin award waiting to happen!

You bear no responsibility at all in the situation you're in?

Not that I'm trying to rain on your parade, but come on dude....give yourself at least a little of the blame and don't just push it all off on the game's mechanics.

You knew the rules, you knew about the insurance, you chose to fly without it.
Be a man. (or woman...sorry I don't know your gender)

Crappy way to celebrate, but your plan to just put the game down for a bit and go not-Elite for a while is a sound one. You'll have a better perspective on whether you want to continue to play pretend spaceman or whether this is the last run for sure. It's not like you don't own it so you can always reinstall if you get the vibe back anyway.

Rant over. I QUIT!!

Hey I did quit too, but because not a loss, but had enough playing a game with increasing amount of bugs coming in every patch with very litte of that being actually fixed.

I think if u would asked support for help about ur conda, im sure they will give u it back. They are known for being mercifull for total noobs..

Okay, so you're really young obviously.

Trust me, you can work up to an Anaconda from scratch in very little time. Unless you'd rather be stubborn and do it the hard, slow way for the next couple of years... but really, you don't even need an Anaconda. They're slow, boring to fly and I hate risking hours of work for a bit of fun in a CZ. Small-medium fighters are the way to go.
