1.8 Patch Issues

Hi all,

Not sure where the best place to post is, but I'll give it a go here. I have real issues with the new patch which has made the game virtually unplayable for me, and no fun at all.

Since the new update, both of my drivers are locking up, spinning off, or crashing 3-4 times per race, and easily 10-11 times over the weekend. I can't push for any more than half a lap without going off, but my opponents don't have this issue at all.

During practice, there seem to be 4 or 5 crashes per session, from the other teams - which I don't mind but it's a bit odd.

Car upgrades now make no sense at all - the numbers (e.g. percentages or kN figures) show an increase, but the components somehow make the car worse, which makes no sense whatsoever. I have built components where every stat is better, but the part drops in performance (e.g. going from 40-40%, or 4.12kN to 4.31kN, but part drops from 3rd best to 5th).

I know there were updates to make the game more challenging and realistic, but these changes make no sense and have ruined the game for me. Frontier, please look into the impact of these changes as this seems really buggy so far.

Cheers.

The same here, hoping the devs are listening and checking this out, I wasn't doing anything wrong, in fact I was enjoying the new strategies and wasn't even pushing it comes across as a random RNG just blowing up your race for nothing other than RNG. I like the changes to the tyres, but the % of accidents and driver errors are indeed through the roof, I don't want to even play the game as it stands now because it's putting me off, 100 hours before the patch and really enjoying the game. Pity.

Hi think creating a post with issues it´s the right way of evolve the game!
One issue it´s unlapping, now you can not unlap, even if you have a better pace. There is the perfect exemple of this:

Another issue it´s the refurbishing of the facilites, they degrate very fast and you spend a lot of money putting they great again, that not makes sense, one refrubish in two or three years, i think it´s fine, how it is, it´s like upgrading every year, and if we have a maintenance cost, why we need to refurbish like this?
One more thing that i think that they can put on the game, it´s the sprint races. Why there are none in the game, if they exist on the real life?
Sorry for my English, i´m Portuguese!

Sprint races will no doubt be in future versions of the game, Frontier were up front about them not being in this version. Sadly Frontier seem to use Discord rather than their Forum so a lot of people miss their updates.

I agree unlapping when its valid is an issue but bugs need to be logged on their issues tracker, they aren't checking the Forums so won't see bug posts.

As for locking up issues, if your drivers have poor accuracy or control and/or your cars have poor brake cooling this will cause lock ups. A top driver can negate poor brake cooling to an extent but always good to be able to brake properly when approaching corners at 200mph + ;-)

I had heard all about the patch and was greatly in favour of improving the tyre deltas to make the racing more realistic.

What I have found since the patch is that the tyres of my drivers cars degrade very quickly, they do not allow for the attacking driving style to be used without the risk of tyres not making it to the end of the race. The AI cars however don't seem to experience the same level of degradation so while I find myself having to preserve my tyres to get to the end of the race it leads to me sliding down the positions as I can't keep up with the pace.

I have just got to second season and made a host of changes and in the first race have found my Mclaren in 5th on the grid for the first race which is an incredible improvement on my first year qualifying but the tyre degradation means I can not convert that great qualifying into a good race performance.

I would really hope that they either remove this patch or amend to actually do what it was meant to which is improve the tyre delta and the difference but cars on different tyres.
