Might not seem like a lot of money to some, but this was my first big loss. Normally I wouldn't think much of it, I knew the risks and would accept the consequences. But this was strange. I just exited supercruise and was heading toward a station when someone started firing on me. Now I'm in a type-6 with no guns and fairly weak shields so I try to rush to the station doing every evasive action I can think of. I get close to the station and see my attacker's lasers and multicannons hit the station multiple times.
Shouldn't that activate the station's defenses? I didn't see a single shot fired by the station.
I suppose I'll just have to take it as a loss and build up once again, but can someone explain to me what activates station defenses besides loitering?
