It depends on the ship and equipment you run but even a viper can get down to freezing within a minute or so if you switch most systems off. If you use flight assist off you can keep your speed whilst at low temps.

Yeah I knew that, I had previously assumed that having shields on would set a baseline temp of at least 25-30 but it seems that if you wait long enough you go cold even with them on and fully charged.

Sorry, didn't read that properly :eek:

It's been a while but is that the Sidewinder? I remember it was definitely easier to run cool before I got the viper

interesting... what happened after you sped up, or used weapons? does it cool down quicker aswell then?
i start to think about camping in a nav-beacon for 25 mins before starting my.. erm.. business.
also worth to try that in a viper, since i always have heat problems - maybe due to the pulse lasers, which i still like somehow :rolleyes:
