+1 to the new round of CGs but...

Everything has a but :) The but is that the CGs are far more engaging with their ties to relevant GalNet articles however it seems to be driving more interest as well. I don't like it. :D I turn my back for what seems like moments and Ryu gets his load of exotic wares behind my back. I MISSED OUT ON THAT FSD AGAIN!!!

But wait! With the CGs success, people who drop the ball can still get the FSD. Like the missle rack as well. This is very very nice.

You don't have to just give it to me. Let me have the opportunity. Build that opportunity off the back of the hard work of others while you're at it, ty ;)

Yes. (The price is of course materials, not money, but yes.)
Thanks for the info!!

But that was not the case with the other time the CG prize was the same FSD++ module, was it?

It's actually great that FDev did it this way! It would probably be pretty frustrating to have missed the opportunity on the CG and not being able to get the prize ever again. I know I missed the other opportunity and felt bad.

But if I knew the module would be generally available, I probably wouldn't be as motivated during the CG as I was 😅

Pardon my ignorance, but... what? Will the FSD++ be available at the Tech Broker for everyone, not just the commanders who made the cut at the CG? They just have to pay the price and that's it?
I believe that is correct - it is just those that took part in the event and were in the top 75% have 2 weeks of getting the modules at a cut down price. <O

I'm not sure that's right. CG text doesn't mention the reduction is only for top 75%.

The "if the initiative is successful" bit is first:
If the initiative is successful, Sirius Corporation will make the fully engineered long range fast boot size 5 Frame Shift Drive available for purchase at all human technology brokers.
Each tier reached will further reduce the resources required for acquiring the module in the first two weeks of availability, starting on the 26th of February 3307.
  • Datamined Wake Exceptions base requirements 18, reduced by two for each tier above Tier 1.
  • Tellurium base requirements 26, reduced by four for each tier above Tier 1.
  • Electrochemical Arrays base requirements 26, reduced by four for each tier above Tier 1.
  • Chemical Processors base requirements 28, reduced by four for each tier above Tier 1.
The "if the initiative is successful" AND you're top 75% bit comes after:
If the initiative is successful, Sirius Corporation will gift the module and a permanent Sirius system permit to the top 75% of pilots. The module will be placed in storage at the Ashby City starport in the Luyten’s Star system by the 26th of February 3307.
I guess we'll see when the rewards are granted...

No indeed. This is a change, and mirrors what they did with the missile rack a couple of weeks ago.

I agree with Vincent. I didn't join in the missile rack CG but I just bought one at a discount.

Thank you. <O

If so I do not mind that approach, as I think that any who 'signed up and took part' should benefit along with the rest of the community - it was a community event after all.

I don't know how I feel about those who did not take part - I guess because the module will be available from now on, I don't feel so bad in saying 'if you didn't take part, you shouldn't get the discount'.

If it wasn't always going to be available I'm not so sure that would be my feeling though, as things happen IRL and such a reward is a bad one to miss out on if something IRL meant you missed the one week window.

Ahhh, now I don't think that makes sense. You still got a discount for an event you didn't even take part in? Because I know the missile rack is always available, I would have thought it would make sense that the discount was for the participants.

As my above post indicates, if not always available - I would think differently.

However, I'm all for the community benefiting as a whole, so I prefer all having a positive experience than some! (y)

It's a community goal, so the community benefits.

If you took part, you get a warm glow that you helped out.
Please see both my posts above.

My only thought is, if you didn't take part in the community event when you could have - then are you not excluding yourself from that event/community?

Again, not a big deal, I prefer this choice of action by ED, than having some miss out completely. <O

The discount was earned for everyone by the efforts of those who could take part in the CG. If those players didn’t want everybody to get the discount they would have stopped contributing before the CG reached Tier 2 where the discounts started to be awarded.

The discount for the missile will be ending tomorrow I believe.

Yes, I believe I indicated I understood that. I was just commenting that if someone voluntarily decided not to take part in it, then I would not find it wrong if they were also not included in the discount.

I again stress that my thoughts are only down to the fact that the module will continue to be available to all. 'Big picture', I would prefer the community to benefit overall, rather than certain elements be penalised. <O

I live for that warm glow. Also the free carrot is nice.

Sort of glad I threw some props to FDev on this one as it seems to have spread some info in a serendipitous manner.
