1 Week Community Event/Goal - The Gonkonda

It's the year 3305 - nothing special really.
We're in the Shinrarta Dezra System when suddenly a massive framshit surge has been detected.
What is that? A long lost generation ship has jumped in from witchspace near Jameson Memorial?
How is this possible... The generation ship doesnt look like any regular ship.. it has landing pads, pirate markings and.. weapons?
We're getting contacted by the Ship, it's Professor Gonkbert Friedrich.
He claims to be a Scientist from a far away human outpost in space. He needs crucial combat data to prepare for the fight against something big, something unkown and thus he requests that the Pilots of the Pilot Federation slaughter each other.
While he broadcasted his message he launched his own ships that are attacking the local system Security while his generation ship launches torpedos at Jameson Memorial.. What a crazy man. Thousands of civilans are now trapped in Jameson Memorial and the controlling superpower is sending support. Battle cruisers will jump in near Jameson Memorial and are trying to protect it and near the Gonkonda in an effort of destroying it.

---
The CG will be 1 week long, in Jameson Memorial.
There are 4 different goals:
1. Kill as many CMDRs as possible in Shinrarta Dezra, NPCs wont count.
2. Attack the weird generation ship and force it to retreat where it came from
3. Protect the generation ship against NPCs and CMDRs. (You'll be fighting system security and vessles of the superpower that owns it currently. Cutters or Vettes can spawn it, depending which superpower controls the system. Perhaps from time to time a battle cruiser.)
4. Rescue as many ships as possible from Jameson Memorial. The Rescue ship should be parked very close so you dont need to supercruise.
System Security will be at a constant war with Prof. Friedrichs Units and thus wont intervene in fights. (except when they get interdicted or the battle at the generation ship)
Jameson Memorial will enter a "Destroyed State".

There hasen't been anything like this in E:D and it would please the PvP community or gankers quite well.
It has something for everyone. Are you a ganker? Here you go, attack everyone you see.
Are you a Anti-Ganker? Protect other ships and try to destroy the generation ship or do you just want to rescue people?
Fly to Jameson and rescue people from the station and bring them to the near by rescue ship (that's the reason why it should be within normal space range and not needing SC.)
Thanks for reading

(This is 100% meant serious. There is no /r or /s.)

OP proving yet again why developers shouldn't even pretend to listen to player suggestions. (This sub is all just an act)

Play quite a few games. Best ones all happen to have the developers go into suggestion threads and tell them "We don't care and your opinions are meaningless" before locking said thread. Quite often give a three day ban too in order to make the point known.

Those games are also very well balanced with amazing content.

I am not aware of any subscription in E:D.
Can you please elaborate on that.
Xbox and PS4 have to pay a subscription $120 to play in open. But we don't have to pay it if we play in solo.

If you did your research you find out it not an act. Please get your facts straight.

I'd say it's more of a case of "developers should listen to what suggestions and feedback players are willing to give, but should not be forced follow through with them." Many of the ideas that come up in this forum fall into one of the following categories:
  1. Not technically possible (software, hardware or network restrictions)
  2. Results in poor game balance
  3. Favoured by a small minority of the community, widely disliked by everyone else
  4. Conflicts with an existing or planned feature
If an player-submitted idea falls into one (or more of these categories, the developers would be justified in completely ignoring the idea. However, if a player-submitted idea does not fall into any of these categories, the developers should still be free to ignore, implement, or iterate on the idea as they see fit (if they really want to the are make a few comments about the idea for the sake of transparency).

Considering that this idea contains elements of all 4 of the categories listed above, I'd say this a pretty good example of the kind of thread the devs should NOT listen to.

Generation ships don't have FSD, they are called generations ships because they take generations to get anywhere, it's highly unlikely that a ship designed for traveling for hundreds of years through space while supporting thousands of colonists would even be able to be retrofitted with an FSD drive. So apart from everything else, no I don't think the devs are going to throw away decades of lore to throw a pointless CG.

I'd love a PvP CG.

I just don't have a good idea for it with the ingame assets that doesn't end in "all non-gankers vanish to solo for a week"

The idea isn't bad though, and Gonkonda is hilarious.

The idea is to give the PvPers an incentive to pew, not to cheat for some meaningless reward like 10 Million credits imho...
What incentive would there be then?

And how would Frontier prevent stat-padding?

5. Perfectly good and feasible and are supported by the majority of members.

Dear me. Countless threads about gankers needing to find something better to do than attacking players in Shinrarta Dehzra. Someone suggests a single CG for PvP and the bulk of posters argue against it.

Sure there's still some details to work out, but if the result of this suggestion is that the 'community' have decided this isn't what they want and that players should be making up their own PvP content, there should be no more complaints when this includes ganking.

I didn't say ALL of the ideas in this thread fall into the 4 categories, just that many of them do.

Also, the 4 categories I defined are for ideas that would probably be better off not being implemented. Conversely, the category you defined would include quite a few ideas that might be worth implementing if they managed to avoid falling into the other 4 categories. As such, I won't include it in my "4 categories of useless player suggestions".
