Horizons 10 ly faster tham 100.000 ls

So. You ask a question that is game mechanic. Which you can take it as it is or whine, which should be done in the feedback section. But no answer, in lore, in game story or even with in a role play scientific approach satisfy you or you accept as valid, because damn everyone that does not agree with your specific mind set. Right?

Why do you even bother asking?

I think you are lazy.

I understood the Earth is flat and will continue to be.

Yeah, what a bunch of losers, those 3300s people. They can't even travel billions of kilometres in less than an hour!

Seriously dude. What is your problem? Gameplay or lore?

My problem is that the game is broken again and I come to the forum pass the time until they fix and I can play again.

It is inevitable to think about the other things that have always been broken or poorly made.

If thinking makes your head hurt, just dont do it.

Imagine getting a plane from one continent to another, then having to get the bus the final 200 miles of your journey.

I went to Hutton 3 nights ago ;)

Because in ED star systems are like islands - each one is independent. When you jump you are taken to the centre of that system (the star), and then you travel by other means to the rest of the system. That's the "why" from a technical point of view

Now, why they can't also allow you to jump to other significant bodies in the system ? I don't know. Maybe a hyperspace jump has a minimum distance requirement... ?

Same reason Captain Kirk almost always used the transporter instead of the shuttlecraft.

Actually the reason Kirk used the transporter was due to financial restrictions the show had, they didn't have a budget to allow the use of the shuttle craft very often. (true fact)

Please for the love of all that is holy, stop using the word 'broken'...

It is not broken, it is working according to what the developers want it to, so it is not broken.

You disagree with how it should work, that is fine, but just because you disagree does not mean the game is broken. So stop using the word like that as if it means something, you are plain and simply wrong if you say this mechanic is broken.

Heck even if 200 people dislike this mechanic, that does not mean it is broken, consider how many people have bought the game now, probably nearing 2 million people but at least 1.4 mil confirmed.

So even if 200, or 1000 people say something is 'bad' or wrong, or don't like it or whatever is wrong, does not mean there is something wrong.
Even if those 1000 people flood the forum so it seems nothing but that topic gets posted does not mean something is wrong.
Also note this doesn't mean that there isn't a problem either, but just because 'some' see a problem doesn't mean it is a problem.

So please try to have some perspective, and please try to realise that if the game had to fit everyone perfectly, it would not be possible to ever work right.
I respect that you do not agree with how the relations is between jumping and travelling in SC, but I do not agree with the perspective, and it is most certainly not broken. And that maybe a real discussion should be had on the subject rather then the what seems to be basically people shouting it is broken and not wanting to hear the other side of the thing, they are just broken and that's how it is in their eyes and they won't even try to talk normally about the subject, which is frustrating to see.

I would love to discuss and ponder if or if something is balanced, proper or whatnot, but when most of the threads begin with "this is broken" "This is the worst" and so on, it really doesn't provide any productive starting point.

In system jumps, we need them. However restrcitions would still apply!

1: Would of had to been there first already, so you would of had to have explored (and scanned the other sun at least) the system, if you already have system data, then you can jump.

2. Must be a Star beyond 50k LS from the jump in star. Our Hyperspace Drives need a large mass to lock on to, so basically another star, and a lot of systems have 2nd stars a good 50k or more LS from the "jump in" star. Even some have NOTHING near the jump in star, but the stations/plants are all around the other star, bad game design.

Staring at a screen for more then 5 min doing nothing, is a good way to get people to NOT play your game. Its needless time sinks that need to be removed, same with making more then 5 jumps in a row. Needless time sinks made for the sol purpose of making you "play" longer, I mean, quit sooner.
