Yeah, I don't think it's finished patching yet. Give it another hour or so.

There is a major update on the way and being applied to the game at this very moment. Servers went down at 7:30 UTC and the update is expected to take 7 hours.
Ah ok, you didn't realise the major patch was updating. They are doing the Fleet Carrier update as we type this, it started 5.5 hours ago and was predicted to take 6.5 hours, they usually take longer so don't be to optimistic with timing. I'm not sure how the Xbox versions run, but I didn't think you would be able to even load the game, you can't on PC.
I'm guessing yes, sorry. You should retain what you have already gained, albeit just 2 days.
Your timing was a little coincidental to start playing ED - patches are usually few and far between (unless they are patching the patch that fixes the patch etc.
) and the game remains up a very high percentage of the time.

Hey and what was wrong with Windows 95? Just reconnected and booted an old Win XP 64 hdd from 2002-2007 , retired it for Vista. Is on a then excellent WD Raptor 36GB drive.

Not unexpected, I have learned to accept the time frames for online game updates to be considered more as an optimistic guess than an actual deadline
I lose hours on patch days playing "Don't Starve" on Steam - it is surprisingly addictive and really fun.

Really strange that the game let you log in on the old client and with the servers still upgrading, though.
