100 000 stellar systems

David has declare in a press article, that the human civilization, occupies 100,000 stellar systems in the game.

What inspires you this number ? It is too much ? not enough ? just right ? There must be immeasurable wealth to earn. 100 000 on 400 billions ? The man is not really a conqueror ! For when 1 million stellar systems, colonized by the man ? Other thoughts ?

Too much or not enough depends on the population of other races and how many systems we explored but didn't colonized, in my opinion.

Sorry bit ignorant here what year in the future is it supposed to be?

Is there a time horizon for when hyperspace was invented.

100,000 star systems is going some even with hyperspace

100,000 seems pretty good to me. It will be nice to have remote colonised systems to explore as well as the untold number of unexplored systems beyond. The number of colonised systems seems about right given the time frame of the game. The increase in the rate of colonisation of space will be exponential once started.

Not every system is going to be worth colonising, which would definitely limit the upper number of occupied systems. Many will simply not have the useable resources to sustain a population, or have exploitable resources worth maintaining a colony to export. Also, given the sheer extent of the Milky Way it's likely large sectors are unexplored given the time window.

As for the 100,000 number, it depends on the extent of development. I imagine a fair number will be a handful of stations and outposts rather than occupying every planet.
