100kps toggle

please forgive me if it's already in game... but it wasn't the last time I was at a station, but with all of the new modules to help new commanders, auto pilot, auto cruise, auto landing et all, could we have a 100 mps button, I know there are settings for 25% 50% throttle and all that but, the 100mps limit is important in a busy station NPC's jostle and bump and if you're a bit too slow you get thumped from behind and if you're a bit too fast you could be fined or worse... shot.
So a 100 mps button please (configurable of course)

If we already have one then I retract my suggestion.

Edit I meant MPS not KPS...By bad, thanks Para

I fly into stations sometime 180 and more depending on ship. Personally I don't want another key to bind.
Plus it will not match my hotas thrust position

Does it really matter if you just under or over 100. Don't bump into anything is the key

There are many keys that we don't want or need, and I'm all for leaving them blank if you don't do that thing.
My ship will turn close to 600 kps, and entering a busy station NPC get pushy, getting your speed to exactly 100 kps is a trick that takes time... that time you are flying forward avoiding pushy NPC's, not all of us have sticks and hotas stuff, personally I have to look at my keyboard to do anything...yeah, I'm rubbish and forgetful, it's just something to make that (pitlane speed limit thing) instantly accessible... I don't wanna get blown up because I'm old and rubbish!

I set my ship to 0. Then use Thrust forward to keep it around 80 to 120 speed.

You park outside a busy mail slot and gently nudge forward until the correct speed is reached?... and you do this for every different type of ship you fly?
Then the 100kps button is the one for you... you need it!

No that what you believe. For my Configuration, I have different options. Using Dual flight sticks. Saitek st290pro (left hand) thrust controls and Saitek x52 pro for other controls (right hand) I could move my x52 pro throttle stick and move it up to 100mps. But if something moves in front of me while I am entering exiting the station I have to move my hand from st290pro back to the x52 Pro throttle put it to 0 and move my hand back to st290pro then try to move away.

But with my Saitek st290pro and the hat for Thrust forward and backwards and the whole joystick setup for any direction Thrust control. I could thrust back to slow down and move the direction joystick to the direction I want to trust to at the same time.

While in combat I use the X52 Pro Throttle to set it into the blue zone so I can change speed faster with the st290 hat control

Nice that you have all of the kit,I'm happy for you, really, I have an ageing keyboard and simple mouse... I would like a 100kps button

Well like my Kit you can still have increased and decrease Throttle control on your ageing keyboard and simple mouse and it not hard to adjust it to your desired speed. Which is not hard to use on a keyboard.

While it might be nice that won't prevent being nudged over the limit by a pushy NPC or a player out for mayhem, our ships will still react to forces but will attempt to slow themselves down if pushed over, but that may be to late.

If you engineer and tune it all correctly you can actually get a default 100mps button by tuning it so quarter thrust gives you just under 100mps, my phantom does 95mps at 25% thrust, there's my 100mps button. :)

I just lost my reply so I'll keep it short... as is my patience with convoluted reasons and excuses not to have simple QOL tasks,
even today's vehicles have cruise control so the future would too.
if it's not for you then don't set it, there are many settings I have no use for so I don't set them, as there seems to be no settings for 100mps then I'd like the option.

More control options are a good thing, I guess. Personally I just use an XBox controller on PC, keeping it simple for the simple!

I also set base throttle to 0 and just push it wherever with the stick. If NPCs get pushy, I just push right back. This one time I bumped a pushy Beluga into the mail slot where another ship was coming in, they both were blown up by the station. :)
