11 things that would make the game better. (IMO)

I have been playing for awhile now and in that time these are the things I think would help the game along a bit. I haven't really read the other post's so I am sorry if I am Echoing.

1. A way to Pay a small fine quickly after getting one, A few times I haven been killing for bounty's and shot a F-S Ship and had them all turned on me in seconds and I can't do anything about it but run away even though it was only a 200 bounty.

2. A way to Share bounty's between Squads ether by damage done or equality. (With like a 5% bonus for killing blow or what have you.)

3. Adding Comets and Rogue asteroids to Solar systems to make them feel more alive.

4. Maybe something like a built in MP3 player to have tunes playing in the Ambiance of the ship.

5. More comprehensive and understandable stats for weapons and components.

6. In stations there are two spots to your left and right which could easily fit a ship each. So, you automatically go down and then some one else could dock and be put in the spot next to you making it so you can have three times as many ships in a station at a time.

7. Interacting with NPC Ships, Like threatening them or asking for help would be cool.

8. Some form of reticule when you are flying without Hardpoints open to help with aiming your ship.

9.Some form of Ping to let you know your scanner found something.

10. Ability to change the color of your Hud without messing with the files would be awesome.

11. Please please please Give us a a shot or two before people go hostile on us, four times I have been killed because one laser hits one guy and everyone attacks me all of a sudden.

Just a few things My friends and I figured might add to this already Great game.

3 makes me think of Guardians of the Universe

but as for most all of the others, this is something i'd really like to see, but we're not even on 1.1 yet so maybe some of this will get added in. Though the NPC one seems kind of pointless, it would require making a very intelligent AI to be able to recognize a distress cal, and then assess the origin of said distress call, then run through various phases of determining who is the threat, you or your attacker.

Ya, They don't all need to be added But it would be call to see some of them.

here is a concept pic that was done by a FD member. I wonder if they will add it to the game. There are a lot of concept pics on how they may do some world landing stations.

Fines and having to either sneak into a station or find an outpost to pay the fine off is part of the gameplay and personally I wouldn't want that removed.

2. A way to Share bounty's between Squads ether by damage done or equality. (With like a 5% bonus for killing blow or what have you.)

This is probably going to get added when wings are introduced.

3. Adding Comets and Rogue asteroids to Solar systems to make them feel more alive.

I agree with this one but there may be a few out there already that haven't been discovered yet.

4. Maybe something like a built in MP3 player to have tunes playing in the Ambiance of the ship.

This gets asked for a lot so I think we will see it eventually. FD are concentrating on core gameplay right now though/

5. More comprehensive and understandable stats for weapons and components.

Personally I have never understood the confusion here as I find it to be fairly simple. Admittedly alpha/beta players have had longer to learn the system though which may be the difference.

6. In stations there are two spots to your left and right which could easily fit a ship each. So, you automatically go down and then some one else could dock and be put in the spot next to you making it so you can have three times as many ships in a station at a time.

I know docking is going to be looked at due to the queuing but I don't think this will be the approach that will look at. The spaces don't really look big enough for 3 Cobras at least and I have very little interest in the bigger ships so space might be even tighter for larger pads.

7. Interacting with NPC Ships, Like threatening them or asking for help would be cool.

9.Some form of Ping to let you know your scanner found something.

This would need thinking about as if it pings for everything then your cockpit will be ping city. Just for USS's would be good though.

10. Ability to change the color of your Hud without messing with the files would be awesome.

This is almost definitely coming. The current implementation was good enough to roll into the game code but not quite good enough for it to go live. I saw a post by a dev that said the reason you get some weird colour combinations was because some textures are white and others are coloured so to make it work properly all of the non-white textures would need re-doing.

11. Please please please Give us a a shot or two before people go hostile on us, four times I have been killed because one laser hits one guy and everyone attacks me all of a sudden.

This one comes up a lot and one or two shots is exactly the wrong thing to do. Imagine you are a trader and a few guys all take turns taking that one or two shots then wait until the "last shot" cooldown passes before firing again. They can murder you without fear of penalties as long as they space their shots outside the cooldown timer. I can think of a few other exploits for that mechanic too.

FD will come up with something for this but it has to be very carefully thought out to minimise exploits.

Indeed. I think the fines need to stay but there needs to be a threshold from when you become 'wanted dead'. A death penalty for a 200cr fine is nuts. Either a threshold (say 1000cr) or even 24hrs to pay the fine before you become a dead man flying.

If you make the cooldown 5 minutes then that's more than enough time for shields to recharge.

Maybe add in an 'send apology' / 'accept apology' feature for player vs player (NPC's could automatically accept apologies from commanders). If you feel the shot was a mistake, then send a communication back to the ship that you've acknowledged the mistake.

You are under thinking this. The reason the OP mentions this is when you're in combat and a cop pulls out infront of you and you tag them one single time, resulting in 3-4 cops all going after you and calling in backup because someone was a dumbass that flew infront of you while you're shooting a laser. So an additional 2-3 shots on security units before they destroy you is reasonable and logical. It wouldn't apply to traders. Personally I say if you accidentally peg a cop, you get a 200 bounty. But make it so cops WONT bombard you for just a 200 bounty if acquired in the past 5-10 minutes.
FD needs to make cops more self-aware so that they realize accidents happen, and sometimes even by their own hands - and that it's not fair or morally right to attack someone the split second they get a fine or bounty.

1. Don't get me wrong I like the bounty system, Just there are a few times when it really is silly. (Bumping off a ship when docking and the like) I have been killed quite a few times now over 50-300 bounty's and I would only like to see maybe bounty's under 500 be able to be payed quickly.

4. My Problem with the stats with the weapons and components is that when I compare them and they have the same state like 2 bars in dmg same fire rate all that sometimes they are blue and some times they are red, So witch it better? I had to buy them all and test them just to get a feel of how good the weapon was. The Stats didn't help much.

6. If it can fit my Cobra it can fit three. Four if you get rid of the Welcome sign. You would have to move a few of the pistons around but it seems like such a waste of space. They where talking about making it so you could walk around the stations and if they want to do that they are gonna need more Pads.

11. I don't mean all people. If you start the combat by attacking some one then by all means mark em hostile but like internal.memory said it shouldn't be a death sentence to tag a friendly in the middle of a fire fight.

I could not agree more. I have been proposing this myself.
I do not even think there should exist bounties for such a low amount of money. A fine would be appropriate.
I think that when you persist in firing upon a security ship the fine should become higher and when you destroy it you should get a bounty on your head.
You would not even have to pay the fine immediately, because the nature of a fine is that it does not trigger an immediate response.

3. Adding Comets and Rogue asteroids to Solar systems to make them feel more alive.

Although I would like to encounter stuff like that, what would be the chance? It would be almost zero I suppose.

5. More comprehensive and understandable stats for weapons and components.

Absolutely. Very often I just have to trust that a certain component is better than another, because there really is nothing to go on.
This is also the reason I very often refrain from buying the most expensive stuff. It is not clear what the advantage would be. I am not paying over a million for a component if the description, or the stats do not explain to me why I would want to do so.

I would like to see other ships sitting in a docking bay opposite or next to me. It would would make things feel more alive.

7. Interacting with NPC Ships, Like threatening them or asking for help would be cool.

I would like that. Perhaps we might be able to buy system and trading data from them, or ask them for a bit of fuel. Or when we are on a mission we could ask them if they know the whereabouts of so and so. There could be all kinds of interesting standard options. We might even offer a trader to protect them... or ask someone to escort us. FD could add a 'rumor' option which would direct us to interesting encounters.
There's all kinds of cool possibilities.

9.Some form of Ping to let you know your scanner found something.
I also would like there to be a more interesting scanner mechanism that used 'active' and 'passive' scanning.
Passive scanning would be the safest form and would not betray your position, but would also gather the least information.
Active scanning would give you a lot more information, but would at the same time betray your position.
I think having a mechanism like that would make scanning a lot more exciting.

10. Ability to change the color of your Hud without messing with the files would be awesome.

I think that is coming. FD are working on it.
The current way of doing it gives terrible results most of the time anyway. I don't like it at all. So far I prefer the original orange theme.

Sorry, given all the issues, and lack of depth in so many areas, and you want ^^^ because you can't be bothered to play an MP3 via another application. Total utter huh? :)

It A question of Immersion. Hardly Needed but would make it even more awesome.

Just Imagine How cool it would be to follow a comet and use your Beam laser to carve your Name in it. And reading messages that other people left. I have no idea how hard it would be to code but It's the little things that keep a game going.
