12 TFlop TitanX

30% faster than a 1080.

Old TitanX

CUDA CORES: 3072
MEMORY CONFIGURATION: 12GB
MEMORY INTERFACE: GDDR5
MEMORY INTERFACE WIDTH: 384 BIT
MEMORY BANDWIDTH: 336.5 GB/S

New TitanX

CUDA CORES: 3584
MEMORY CONFIGURATION: 12GB
MEMORY INTERFACE: GDDR5X
MEMORY INTERFACE WIDTH: 384 BIT
MEMORY BANDWIDTH: 480 GB/S

Those extra CUDA's and higher clock speed on the DDR5X memory will be nice to see. Can't wait for the specs and benchmarking.

I bet not even that card can run Elite at 2X pixel density in ultra settings with the Vive :)

I'd like to have one anyway :)

Probably best just to pick up two then. ;)

If you want them for Elite VR, then that's an expensive bet because SLI is not working at the moment.
Well actually the new nvidia cards don't use SLI anymore, there are two different options to use both cards but I can't remember the names. Anyway, what I mean is that even if FD supports SLI in the future, that won't work with this generation of cards. They'd have to support the new standards.

$1200 USD is too much for me right now; my 1080 is fine for quite a while, having upgraded from a 780 GTX (which actually worked quite well anyway).

I'd rather a complete refresh on HMD in a year or two.

I'm sure the 1080 GTX Ti will pop up around Xmas with the 1080's 3072 cores but have the fatter 384-bit memory bus; that will slot in between the 1080 and the new Titan X and complete this first Pascal card lineup.

It's not that much really, and I'll certainly consider purchase when it's released into the wild. Who then will want a rather gently used original Titan X for shipping cost?

Forumdad's get to laugh at broke Millennials sometimes :D

Sadly, Elite is also making me consider a $1200 video card...

i bought 2 titans a while back with original coolers.. NEVER AGAIN! the blower style coolers from nvidia really blow!

just wait till there is an EVGA hybrid kit for these cards and buy that instead.
i smacked 2 of them on my cards and now they never go above 50 degrees, while on the blower cooler they did 84 and started to thermal throttle.

I think I shall just continue lathering myself with patience and wait for a slightly more reasonable 2080ti (or whatever numbering the next series will have)

Not sure about the Vive but my rig runs that great on my monitor with those settings now... also I know it takes more to run head-mounted display or HMD was just funning with ya... game settings > http://i.imgur.com/nZmvtIn.jpg

I like the way you think commander :D

You know, you can probably get better performance changing the in game super sampling to .65 but directly using your vid card to oversample (DSR or the AMD equivalent). For instance I run mine at 6880*1440 res with max settings and still get 60fps+

The in game super sampling is really poorly optimised.

On topic, whats even more interesting is this sets the bench for the inevitable 1080ti which will be at a much more realistic price range for peeps.
