I started Elite Dangerous and it was stuck at 60fps forever. After a lot of research I determined that this was because of the Steam smoothing/reprojection technique. I turned all of that off for better or for worse, got EDProfiler and put that on VR setting, and am now getting 120FPS pretty good.
I have a RTX 2080 and an overclocked 1700x with good 3466 ram. I'm wondering how to improve my circumstances. Here are my questions:
1. Should I go with 120hz or 90hz with a slightly better picture? Alternatively, I could enable smoothing and use 60hz, but I'm not sure what people think of that.
2. Once I have decided on a refresh rate, what is the best way to improve picture quality? I'm using the EDProfiler default VR settings. I'm wondering what options best improve picture with minimal impact on performance.
EDIT: I would also love some guidance on how to setup the HUD (apparently colors are bad for VR?) and a 16000m mapping for VR.
