PvP 13th Legion has really gone downhill

Seriously ?, the biggest deciding factor is ships.

Say you are in the corvette from your sig and I'm in a speed build, I just need to throttle up to totally control the engagement no need to even touch the pips. Say I'm in my corvette I can tank damage long enough to high or low wake as you can't mass lock me, or I can fight. Add wingmen and or special weapon effects and things get more complicated but still the basic choice of fight, flight or take the mickey is mine so PVP remains entirely an optional thing.

The only ship I have that doesn't have a really easy escape option is my long jump explorer DBX, but then there's not much that can match it's jumprange so I only need to high wake once to be completely safe.

A fatal misconception.

The biggest deciding factor is the build of the ship and how the pilot utilizes it, not the ship itself. Corvette does not equal Corvette. In the end you have neither info on how my Corvette is build up nor info on my piloting skills. If I have a Grom rocket, you can forget waking anywhere.

I had a similiar thought along the lines of "If it goes badly, I just tank it until I can wake.", then I went up against Rinzlers Corvette and just made it out with sheer luck and a few percent of my shield left.

You don't get to choose the ship you're interdicted in, you have to utilize the one you are in. So if you have a ship that's able to counter your enemy, good. If not, welcome to the rebuy screen.

The interdiction starts I push target nearest hostile and see what you are flying and if you are in wing, I can choose to submit and fight/flight or I can fight it and see how I do, then submit if it's looks like I'm not going to win and still gain the advantage of reduced cooldown. Entirely my choice how it pans out and what I do afterwards.

You successfully escaped from rinzler, if you'd chosen not to fight and do a Sir Robin in the first place it would have been even easier. Again PVP or even breaking off halfway through is by choice.

My speed build courier is small hard to hit and can outrun dumbfires IIRC FSD dumbfires are even slower than standard 600ms, the throttle wins again. My tanky builds all have point defences, if he's got loads of missiles to try and swamp defences he's compromised his firepower and if he's packing torpedoes he needs to be running at me to hit because I don't have any ships that can't really easily outrun torpedos. If I don't choose to fight he's not going to be running at me, he's going to be running after me. Again PVP is entirely optional.

Rebuy like PVP is optional.

And as soon as someone has a Grom rocket, you're game.

"have been even easier". It was sheer luck that I got out and my wing mate died instead, but sure, whatever you say, man.

You know your argumentation is flawed when you rely entirely on special cases to support it.

You're constantly assuming that you're faster than your opponent for no apparent reason.

All my ships are special cases, I deliberately engineer them that way.
