PvP 1st PvP kill

So I was at the nav point in Ross 154 when I came upon a commander who was wanted. 4080 cr. I know, not much and he was in a sidewinder and me in a python. Sorry, he was wanted. I engaged him and killed him. He didn't have a chance. Not the way I envisioned my first PvP kill, but he was wanted and one of the things I do is hunt bounties. If he hadn't had a bounty on his head, he would have flown away. If you're reading this, sir/ma'am, there was nothing personal on my end. You were wanted and If I see a wanted ship of any kind I will fire on them. I might end up turning tail, I might lose my ship, but I will fire on them.

You don't need to apologize for fair play (can't say the same about a fair fight), just try to not combat log when in a few months, the guy returns with a fully modded Annie! :D

Funny how a little WANTED sign makes it not ganking....

Thats all thats missing for PVP in Elite Dangerous. Is more Context. Whether it be visual through the mission board or whatever.

NPC's do these actions everyday. But when it comes to people for some reason its a whole different story.

If he comes back in a fully modified Anaconda and opens up on me, I'll run and if I can't get away, I'll pay the insurance. I will not combat log. That's just being dishonest. I just wish FD would fix it so you don't lose your NPC crew.

I've totally lit up other players with tiny bounties before, just because I can. I've also been shot at over a tiny bounty. Part of the game, no big deal. It's all for fun in the end.

If there's a wanted player in the hazres, and they're *clearly* just bounty hunting, I send them a wing invite. We might as well all get paid.

Doesn't count. According to your description of events, there was no monologue, so it doesn't count.

For someone who 'RPs to the hilt', you should know better. At the very least... "Hello my pretty. Just wanted you to know, the pitiful bounty on your piece o crap sidey won't even cover the bar tab while I'm cackling about your burning corpse".

Better luck next time.

I did send to him, "Sorry, you're wanted." He could have replied and I might have let him go. But no reply. Big mistake on his part.

Ahh yes, I remember my first kills, I engaged players before but they usually got away.

It was a cold winter's afternoon. the Conflict zone was Ablaze, Ships were shooting and the smell of burning carcasses of pilots was welcoming to the nostrils(assuming one can smell in a vacuum;) )

Suddenly, a team of 2 vipers and a cobra entered later, all CMDR's!! They thought to ruin my day by attempting to destroy my ship...

Pew-pew, they fell one by one. their silenced screams where music to my ears.

only one was left. downed to 30% he fled back home and never returned!

I was then left in peace to slaughter my NPC victims once more!

well, that's the story of my first kills anyway.....

Take care!

By all account it was legit.

Sporty? hardly... But do not anyone kid himself. He was a wanted criminal, and Crime fighting is not about sport, nor fair play.
To put it brutishly simple?
He is a problem meant to be dealt with. And as far the only way to claim the bounty, deal with the criminal to destroy the other's ship essentially killing him?

And just like that, you're a bad person. You clearly have nothing to do but make the lives of others miserable, and waste decades of their time.

...welcome to the club :) *hugs*
See above. The only person in his right mind have problem with it, is the crim itself and his ilk, and the law enforcer / bounty hunter are one and only bad by their terms.
So you know what? Don't try to push together the criminal, and the "policeman". It won't work.

I've really enjoyed this thread - nothing to do with the subject matter ofc - mostly the inability of some to understand blatant irony!

My highlight? Well, that would have to be the indignant responses to posters who are actually agreeing with & supporting OP's actions.

Good work, OP et al - 9/10 - would laugh with at, again! [squeeeee]
