2.09 patch helps selling exploration data!

Nice. From 20 to 50 pages, so for a 5,000 system exploration thang, that's 100 pages instead of the default 250. In other words 2.5 times as quick.......provided it doesn't crash....

Returned from DWE yesterday, really glad I didn't just dump it all immediately.

More importantly, it indicates that the Exploration Servers have been given a lot more juice.

And, of course, provided it doesn't take 2.5 times as long to sell a page now. :)

Quite a few good changes coming in the upcoming patch. ^^
Especially like the option to now increase the number of systems in one page.
Keep up the great work, Frontier! o7

Held off returning from a three month trip today due to the change. Just hope it works hate to lose three months of data to a bug.

Is it working?

If any of you are selling a lot of data (preferably over 5,000 systems worth to be a decent test) could you please keep track of how your exploration credits increases compared to your bank balance. In the past, selling a page at a time increased the chance of these two increases getting out of step. It always worked fine with only a few hundred or so systems to sell but seemed to get progressively worse as the number of systems went into the thousands. I'm hoping this is all in the past now but it would be good to have some confirmation from current sellers, especially as increasing the page size will actually make it worse if not completely fixed.

I've seen this behavior in the past but the numbers always seemed to fix themselves the next day when I'd log in. Kind of like a disconnect between different servers or something that a daily routine somewhere would correct behind the scenes. Does it sometimes not fix itself? :O

When I noticed it, it was permanent and amounted to a discrepancy of several percent.

Edit: there were also cases where I lost the first discovered by tag which may or may not have been related but I put down to server side time outs. Those tags have never reappeared.

Sounds like a data replication lag - I get this all the time with my job (Active Directory) across sites. If you're selling huge amounts of exploration data, you're going to be setting off a replication event and it's quite possible that the Server displaying your base screen is not the same one that is handling your data... hence the immediate disparity.

TL: DR - Patience young padawan.

When you've got enough systems that it takes days to sell them all, it is pretty easy to discount short term timing discrepancies....

The patch came right in between my permit run with 1000 systems to go. The page loads as fast as the 20 page and sells as fast as well. A definate improvement unless you of course want to sell this data to get the system permits and cannot finetune the sold value as good anylonger ;)
