Well actualy it will be space combat very close to a planet surface , given that airless worlds... lack air , you know given that they are airless.

This changes everything and some bases will be guarded by ships as well ! WONDERFULL


this to me means its going to be the best update yet as it includes :
New weapons I have been wanting for a long time
USS overhaul
Mission overhaul
POI overhaul
Air combat
Better AI
Graphic fixes
Right on FD ! , Right on !

That is fantastic news! I've been excited about "air" combat more than any other part of horizons, it was a major disappointment to not see it in the initial release. Now I'm off to read the newsletter to make sure you aren't yanking my chain.

Indeed, now I have a reason to improve aim with dumbfire missiles (or get better at SRV combat!).

Hopefully they are getting something of a bump...took forever to take down a ViperMkIV with two class 2 dumbfire missiles.

Now, if only they'd throw in "air" to have the air combat in, then it'd be perfect. (also water)

I recently had a pirate eagle follow me in an instance while running cargo to a surface port. I don't remember the exact altitude, but it was definitely close to the surface (after the glide towards the port), and we had combat alright. Can't say the eagle was much of a challenge, but it was trying to attack me, so combat is possible even at this time.

Oh yes, this is looking very promising !
I was very disappointed by the lack of NPC's flying above planetary surface when Horizon was release.
So I welcome them even more !
In fact, most of the above listed changes, upgrades are more than welcome to me !
